Another step closer…

We have chosen the new carpet!

Custom commercial carpet has a 12 to 18 week lead time, which means we’re on the countdown. While it’s being made, there’s still plenty happening as we prepare for the next stages of works.

Slow progress is still progress. We promise it will be worth the wait!

Congratulations Cassie!! 🇦🇺🥂

The winner of the Arts and Culture Award is Cassandra Geddes
Cassandra has dedicated over 20 years to enriching the cultural and community life of West Wyalong through her tireless volunteer work. She has played a central role in organising the Catholic Debutante Ball, contributed extensively to the West Wyalong Dramatic Society as a performer, director, choreographer, and organiser, and supported the Tivoli Theatre and Catholic Church in numerous capacities.
Her efforts have brought entertainment, fundraising, and inspiration to the community, including productions such as Mama Mia, Chicago, and Rocky Horror Picture Show, while ensuring the Catholic Debutante Ball continues to provide essential support to the parish and school.
Cassandra’s dedication, grace, and leadership serve as a model for young people and the wider community, showing that commitment and effort can create lasting positive impact. Her selfless service has significantly strengthened local culture, faith, and community spirit, making her a highly deserving winner.

One year ago today we closed our doors at the Tivoli.
This morning, for the first time in twelve months, the sound inside the cinema was not silence but tools, ladders and builders pulling down the first panels of the damaged ceiling.

It finally feels real.
Repairs have begun.
The Tivoli is on its way back.

Thank you to everyone who has stood by us through this long year. Your support has meant everything, and we are so glad to finally share some good news with you.

Our deepest thanks go to Dunk Insurance, who have fought for us every step of the way this past year. Their persistence and commitment have been the reason we can finally begin this work.

We are also grateful to DJR Building and Border to Border Electrical for taking on the repair project. There will be many more people to thank as the job continues.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Ian Dodge. Ian was one of the original committee members and the project manager who helped turn a bold idea into the community treasure we know today.

Ian stood right beside Ron from day one, managing the project and bringing the vision to life with skill, dedication and a whole lot of heart.

Even in recent times, while the space has been closed, Ian continued to offer guidance, support and reassurance. His counsel has helped steer us through the insurance process and reminded us of the strength of the foundations he helped build. We are committed to bringing the Tivoli back to life soon, and when we do, part of that revival will honour his legacy.

Ian gave so much to this community. Quietly, generously and with a wonderful sense of humour. We are immensely grateful for everything he did.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Thank you Ian for helping make the Tivoli possible. So much of this place carries your handprint. We will honour that as we move forward. Rest easy dear friend. ❤️

Although the Tivoli remains closed while we await essential repairs, our community spirit is still very much alive – and we need you to help shape the future of our beloved cinema!

Join us for our Annual General Meeting tomorrow night, and consider becoming part of our committee. It’s a great opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and be part of the team working toward bringing the Tivoli back to life.
