As we say farewell to 2025 and hello to 2026, we would like to thank our wonderful students, families, and teachers for being part of our MPA Family.

We are so excited to share that 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of MPA. This milestone is a fabulous opportunity to reflect on decades of MPA’s dedication to quality dance education, and we can’t wait to celebrate this special year with our students, families, alumni, and staff.

Merry Christmas from everyone at Macquarie Performing Arts.

As we reflect on the year that has been, we extend our sincere thanks to our wonderful students, families, teachers, and wider MPA community for your continued support, commitment, and trust. It has been a year filled with dedication, growth, achievement, and many special moments both in the studio and on the stage.

We wish you all a joyful and restful Christmas break spent with family and friends, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year for another inspiring year of dance, learning, and creativity.

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Alexandra and Denise on the successful completion of their Advanced 2 Diploma in Classical Ballet.

Those who know the Advanced 2 Classical Ballet syllabus understand the level of technical demand, discipline, resilience, and commitment required to reach this milestone. Alexandra and Denise have approached this qualification with determination, maturity, and an unwavering work ethic, and they should be exceptionally proud of what they have achieved.

Alexandra will now continue into her second year of full-time vocational training with Sydney Dance Company, while Denise is commencing her first year of vocational training with Dargie Fulltime. These next steps are a testament to their dedication, talent, and readiness for the professional pathway ahead.

We are immensely proud of both young women and thrilled to see where their training will take them next. We wish Alexandra and Denise every success as they move forward into this exciting new chapter and cannot wait to watch their continued growth as artists.

Congratulations to the following MPA students:

Aadya has been awarded the MPA Dancer of the Year Scholarship, which provides full tuition for 2026. This scholarship recognises not only technical ability, but commitment, work ethic, and consistent dedication to training, and Aadya embodies all of these qualities.

Ruby and Jessica have each been awarded the prestigious MPA Pre-Professional Scholarship. This scholarship is specifically for use towards full-time tuition at a recognised full-time dance vocational course. Macquarie Performing Arts places these funds into trust to be used solely for full-time vocational training in 2027, supporting students as they take the next significant step towards a professional dance career.

Tanasi has been awarded the MPA Most Improved Student Award. This recognises remarkable progress over the year, reflecting determination, perseverance, and a willingness to learn and grow.

We are incredibly proud of each of you and look forward to watching your continued journey in dance.

Congratulations to Emma Biviano on receiving a professional dancer contract offer with Disney Cruise Lines. We are extraordinarily proud of you, Emma.

Emma has been a dedicated student of Macquarie Performing Arts for thirteen years, completing every examination from Pre-Primary to Advanced Two in all genres, and she will sit her Advanced Two Tap examination this Sunday. She was the recipient of the MPA Dancer of the Year Award, followed by the prestigious MPA Bursary, providing two years of tuition to support her full-time training. Emma chose to complete her full-time studies at Dargie Full Time this year, making this contract offer a wonderful way to conclude the year.

On behalf of myself and Elizabeth Derby aka ‘Mrs D’ we could not be more proud of Emma. She has worked tirelessly for this opportunity, and we have worked alongside her with equal commitment as we have guided and nurtured her towards becoming the professional performer she is destined to be. Emma now joins the ranks of our recent graduates, Maeve Bailey and Sousada Souksavath.

Warm congratulations also to Betty and Ben, Directors of Dargie Full Time, for believing in Emma as strongly as we always have.
