We recently provided over 250 crew for Taylor Swifts Eras tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as well as 150+ crew for P!NK's Sumer Carnival shows at Marvel Stadium.

CREW NOTICE: SAFETY GLOVE IMPLEMENTATION

As of tomorrow (Wednesday 22nd, April) Full Fingered Safety Gloves will be a mandatory PPE item for all crew!

After lengthy reviews of hand and finger injuries over the past 12 months, all Gig Power employees will be required to wear full fingered safety gloves during load in and load outs as of tomorrow onwards!

The introduction of gloves has been discussed during Tool Box talks as well as mentioned on crew payslips over the past few weeks in the lead up.

We would recommend at least a Cut 5 mechanic style fitted glove which can be purchased from a number of tool trades and safety shops such as Bunnings, Total Tools, RSEA and Sydney Tools just to name a few.

A friendly reminder to all our Clients and Crew that over Christmas and New Years the office will be closed over the following days.

December:
Thu 25th - CLOSED
Fri 26th - CLOSED

January:
Thu 1st - CLOSED

Business will be as usual during the other days Monday to Friday.

We had the pleasure back in April/May 2022 in providing 50 crew for part of the filming at Rod Laver Arena for Robbie’s Better Man movie which was released in cinemas across Australia on Boxing Day.

Earlier this month we held our annual Crew Awards at the Palais Theatre celebrating another hectic gig year with the Gig Power Family.

🚨 CREW SAFETY & MANUAL HANDLING TRAINING 🚨

Over the next few weeks we will be holding free Safety & Manual Handling training sessions for current Gig Power crew as we gear up for another busy summer season of shows.

These sessions will focus on working safely in the entertainment industry as well as focusing on manual handling technique and the introduction to our new Safety Culture platform.

We encourage all Crew to attend a session regardless of their current experience or knowledge as a number of things have changed in the past year as well as the introduction to a new safety reporting platform for Crew.

Sessions will be held at Gig Power Weasle Eicke Training Room in West Melbourne and run in the afternoons between 2:30pm and 5pm.

Yesterday a group of Gig Power Followspot Operators and Pro Stage crew completed the Working At Heights course at the Pinnacle Safety and Training complex in Port Melbourne as part of our new skills development and crew safety training program.

We will be conducting a number of Safety & Manual Handling training sessions for crew in the coming weeks as we prepare for another busy summer season of gigs 💪🏽
