Today we celebrate our Queen of Queens (and we have a few… iykyk!)

Every studio, organisation, family, team… has a matriarch and she is ours! We aren’t allowed to say her age other than still 27 (we can confirm the 7 part is there 😳but next year maybe not 😘)

And today the clock ticks over another year.

Huge weekend at the Eastern Australian Championship and Premiership, NSW/ ACT Championship: Scottish Dancing Association of Australia May Festival.

Highlights include:
💚 7 dancers top 6 Eastern Australian Championship.
🤍 3 dancers top 6 Eastern Australian Premiership.
💚 Trophies for our pre-premier and restricted premier
🤍 Welcome Jovie to our championship team!
💚 Welcome back to competition Chelsea and Paris!

🥹 Proud of all our Championship team, 10 out of 12 places on offer in the NSW/ ACT Championship

🏆 shoutout to Kaia for winning the 7-11 years, which sadly could not reach Championship status with just four competitors.

🎉 and to our newest Champion, Sophia, congratulations! You always remember your first and may the hard work continue as you soar to new heights heading to Scotland to compete with the best in the world later this year.

This event is always a major one for us, local (sort of), loyal to the organisation of which Veronica Law herself is a Life Member and to our dear friends involved in running the event… and we bleed blue 💙!!! Highland Dance NSW has so much to offer, this event allows us all to come together and do what we love! Thank you to all involved. Next stop Newcastle on the long weekend and then Melbourne for the Australian Commonwealth Championship… it really is kilt dance season!

How has it been a week already! This small but proud team competed at Champion of Champions Gold Coast, 8 of our 13 qualified dancers, competed in the Champion of Champions Championship, with several callbacks for judges placings and overall dance place. Excellent results in the nationals and Premier (restricted) and medals for our pre-premier team. Proud of the whole team, all bringing home medals/ trophies and most of all memories! Looking forward to CofC Sydney 2028 already!

‘C H A M P I O N OF C H A M P I O N S’ GOLD COAST
DAY 1!

Australian Championships, Beginners, Novice and Intermediate for us. A smaller team than usual, but this small group dug deep!

Shoutout to Kaia (3), Gabby (6), Natasha (6) Emma (5) for making the top 6 of the Australian Championship and Sophie, Caelan, Sophia and Enya called back.
