Convergent Bodies, First Leap
Is a Solo Exhibition by Bianca Tainsh
The initial manifestation of new experimental work that takes cues from her time in the Occupy Residency🤩.
Opening Night
Friday Sept 18th
5-8pm 🥂
Convergent Bodies is a visceral self-identification with other interspecies bodies and the emergence of a speculative posthuman future where technology is applied as ecological steward and interlocutor for entanglement with the more-than-human.
In an 11-week OCCUPY residency, artist Bianca Tainsh has been visualising this concept through experimental juxtapositions of a vast exploratory archive of organic artefacts and digital documentation, and an accumulating body of aesthetic and conceptual research exploring microscopic and subterranean realms and the relational and metaphysical entanglement of all species. Unlike Haeckel’s Art Forms in Nature, Tainsh’s archive seeks the wild asymmetries of decay, sexual manifestation, and symbiosis..
Exhibition continues:
Sat 19th Sept & 20th
10am - 3pm
Artist Talk - TBC.
The Occupy Residency + Exhibition is funded by a major anonymous sponsor, community patrons, Reverse Garbage Queensland ♻️ + our Assemble Art Bank supporters😍
