While our reception team will be taking a break for the Ekka public holiday tomorrow, the Thomas Dixon Centre will remain open as we welcome attendees to the Academy of Queensland Ballet's Audition Insights Day.⁠

If you're visiting the Centre, Toms.Kitchen will be open from 8am to 1pm, and Layla Brisbane will be welcoming guests from 5pm.⁠

Step into the rarely seen world of ballet costuming at Behind the Seams, an intimate evening of exceptional food, drinks and craftsmanship at the Thomas Dixon Centre on 24 August. 🩰✨⁠

The evening begins at Layla Brisbane, with a curated menu by acclaimed chef Shane Delia, featuring a roaming selection of canapés, a signature dish and dessert, paired with premium beverages.⁠

From there, guests will be welcomed inside Queensland Ballet's Costume Workshop, a space rarely accessible to the public. Explore the costumes, headpieces and pointe shoes that have graced some of Queensland Ballet's most iconic productions, hear from the artisans behind the work, and discover the meticulous detail, technical expertise and imagination woven into every piece.⁠

Experience 軌跡: path, a striking new installation from artist Kanako Enokida.⁠

Kanako transforms worn clothing donated by family in Japan and friends in Meanjin into delicate paper sculptures that hold stories of memory, identity and belonging.⁠

Join artist Kanako Enokida, with special guests Christine Ko, Sachi Mehta and SHA Sarwari, and moderator Lubi Thomas, this Sunday, 12 July at 4:30pm for BEMAC Discussions: Breaking and Becoming Together in a Liminal World. This special conversation explores intercultural identity, embodied memory, and the creative process of living between cultures.⁠

軌跡: path is on display at the Thomas Dixon Centre until 13 July. Admission is free. ⁠
