Sydney, we will never forget this. đĨšđļ
On the 12th of September, over 2,100 of us came together at Norwest Convention Centre for a night we'd waited years for - Nagarbaul James and Rupam Islam & Fossils, sharing a Sydney stage together for the very first time. Looking back, it still feels a little surreal that it actually happened.
Rupam Islam opened with a blistering hour - Hasnuhana, Ekla Ghor, Acid - before Guru James took over and the room became one voice. Dushtu Chheler Dol. Tarai Tarai. And when he sang MaaâĻ there wasn't a quiet seat in the house. Strangers with arms around each other, singing like we were all back home for just a few minutes.
This wasn't just a concert. It was proof of what this community can build when we come together - and honestly, we're still a little overwhelmed by it. The press agreed too, calling it one of the most organised Bengali events Sydney has seen in years.
To every single person who bought a ticket, stood in that line, sang every word, and gave this night its soul - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
To ImmiAid ANZ - Migration & Study , Bringelly BIRDS PTY Ltd, Sunrise Homes, Book My Flight , FUSKA HOUSE , V Property Consulting , Laing+Simmons Ingleburn , , Photolia , , Amarabati Family Trust, Radio Gaan Baksho , Monthly Muktamancha, Prothom Alo and every partner who believed in us before a single ticket was sold - thank you for standing with us. To every Volunteer who supported us relentlessly throughout the event, helping with Ticket Check-ins, helping with logistics - without you it was impossible.
