The Vag Badge by Miss Becky a.k.a. Rebecca Lewis was conceived in 2006 as a satirical feminist response to colourful and kitsch fashion and design 'fads' within the field of jewellery and accessories. Handcrafted in living colour The Vag Badge highlights the ludicrous nature of 'gimmick' marketing and the unquestioning acceptance of these absurd accessories by the consumer. Viewers of the work are

given the opportunity to interact with the work with the creation of the "Custom Vag Badge'. Customers may order a Vag Badge based on their own specifications,design and colours allowing them to be a part of the 'Vag' experience. This concept proved to be highly successful at the opening of 'Overt Compensation, Reloaded' at the Depot Gallery, Danks St in Jan '06 where The Vag Badge first burst onto the scene. Always fun loving and ready for combat,The Vag Badge is handmade and comes in a variety od textures and colours. No two vag's are alike....Just like a real women.
