Our children have enjoyed celebrating NAIDOC Week through meaningful learning experiences that honour and celebrate the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Together, we explored culture through art, storytelling, music, and community connections, fostering respect, curiosity, and a sense of belonging.

Thank you to our families and community for celebrating this special week with us. We are proud to continue learning, listening, and walking together.

🧺✨ Why Loose Parts Play? ✨🧺

At Yugnu, we value loose parts play because it encourages creativity and imagination. Crates can become houses, climbing frames, seats, hiding places, and so much more! 🌈

Through this type of play, children develop language, teamwork, problem-solving, and cooperation skills. Open-ended materials empower children to lead their own learning through exploration and discovery. 💚🌿

📚🚌 Library Visit Adventure 🚌📚

Today, our children enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Wellington Library. The highlight for many was the exciting bus ride, where children practised safe travel skills and enjoyed observing the community around them. 🌟

At the library, children explored books, listened to stories, and engaged in meaningful conversations, fostering a love of reading and learning. 📖✨

Excursions like these provide valuable real-life learning experiences, helping children build confidence, connect with their community, and develop a sense of belonging. 💚

We had a fantastic day and can't wait for our next adventure!

At Yugnu, we value real life learning experiences and encourage our children to help care for their environment each day. 💚

Children are involved in washing, cleaning up, setting up experiences, and helping tidy their learning spaces. Through these everyday routines, children develop independence, responsibility, teamwork, and a sense of belonging within our community. 🧽🪣🌱
