Wauchope Arts - arts from the heart The Wauchope Community Arts Hall is just that - community. We have a few hundred members who regularly attend our events.

Located adjacent to Bain Park in Wauchope (off Oxley Lane), it is one of the most intimate venues in the Hastings yet attracts acts of extraordinary quality. The hall is owned by Port Macquarie Hastings Council and is managed locally, for the council, by the Wauchope Community Arts Council Inc. This committee of volunteers oversees the use of this great community resource for arts performances, ar

t house or documentary film nights, concerts, related activities and private functions. Our committee members have day jobs as teachers, nurses, disability workers, business owners, artists and musicians. We happily volunteer at Wauchope Arts because it enriches our lives, as well as providing an unusual experience for Wauchope and beyond. We don’t just put on events – we have also auspiced many fledgling groups and artists and work with other community groups on projects like the Tree Fiesta, which will now be an annual event. Members get discounts at every concert and free entry to our film nights. Membership numbers are growing as more people discover the magic of our gigs … and that travelling to Wauchope is not like crossing the Nullarbor!

Fresh from their European tour we are so pleased that the treasured and celebrated duo are returning to Wauchope Arts for a Sunday afternoon gig. Known for their killer live shows, H***y Hicks captivate audiences with their infectious energy, tight harmonies, and musical versatility.

Don't forget, on Saturday September 12th, we will be hosting the extraordinary Rodrigo Santiago & Friends for an unforgettable evening of gypsy jazz, flamenco and Latin-inspired music. Born in Spain, Rodrigo Santiago has earned a reputation for his dazzling guitar work, blending the spirit of Django Reinhardt with flamenco, bossa nova, samba and contemporary influences to create a sound that is both exhilarating and deeply expressive.

Joining him will be Brisbane's most experienced Jazz musicians, John Reeves (Piano Accordian ) Cameron Jones (Guitar) and Shenzo Gregorio (Octave Viola), each bringing decades of experience across jazz, classical and world music. Together they deliver a vibrant, virtuosic performance filled with breathtaking musicianship, infectious rhythms and the energy of a world-class live concert.

Kristina Olsen is a powerfully engaging performer with a blues raw velvet voice, brilliant guitar skills (on acoustic and steel-body slide guitar) and a fine way of crafting a song, from hilarious tales of love-gone-wrong to seriously compelling songs of rare insight and compassion.
