For years we've seen this magnificent trophy encased in glass in the Show office committee room at Warwick Show, so it was lovely to see it ring side in all its glory waiting to be presented to the winner.
The J H S Barnes Memorial Trophy was instigated in 1973 by the late Mr Ceb Barnes of Canning Downs, his late sister Mrs A G Bell and his late niece Miss Pam Bell of โโArooโ, Boonah.
This magnificent perpetual trophy and a memento is presented to the most consistent working horse over the four days of the campdrafts, to be judged on ability and type.
As the Campdraft is traditionally an Australian event, Mr Barnes wished to promote the use of Australian bushmanโs dress and saddlery in this event. Therefore, Australian saddles must be used. All horse breeds are eligible to compete for this trophy.
Congratulations Chelsea, this is a great honour, horses who have come before include Millungeras Moon Beam & Wallabah Excel, to name a couple.
Pictured with the Trophy is Andrew Peterson, as stated in the comments, "๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐
