Warrnambool Organ Festival

Warrnambool Organ Festival The Warrnambool Organ Festival takes place in August each year and features jazz, choral, and organ music.

The inaugural Warrnambool Organ Festival in 2014 showcased three of Warrnambool's pipe organs over three concerts featuring local and visiting organists. In 2015, the festival expanded to six concerts using pipe organs at St Joseph's Catholic Church, the Warrnambool Uniting Church, Christ Church, St John's Presbyterian Church, and the Lutheran Church. Performers included Rhys Boak, Brendon Lukin,

and Craig Doherty. In 2016 six concerts were once again presented, featuring Christopher Cook, Gavin Fry, Robert Craven, Craig Doherty, and Brendon Lukin. The festival also presented a radio play called 'Murder on the Mahogany Ship'. The 2017 Festival will be held from the 1st - 3rd of September and will include recitals from Martin Setchell, Anthony Halliday, Dominic Perissinotto and Craig Doherty.

THANK YOU for supporting our festival in 2026! We had a great series of concerts - a wonderful Friday jazz night with Osmonov + Elhay and Juicebox, a terrific Sunday recital with Joshua Walker, David Byrne, and special guests, and a phenomenal Saturday night concert with our biggest crowd ever (both on and off the stage!). Thank you to the Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra and all the musicians who participated, to our Musical Director Patrick Burns for pulling everything together, to our army of bakers who whipped up another great supper on Saturday night, and to everyone who came along. See you in 2027!

This is probably the largest instrument in South West Victoria. It features 2,012 pipes and has around five kilometers of tubing inside it. When it opened in January 1893 it was the biggest organ in rural Victoria. It's still one of the largest instruments outside of Melbourne. This weekend you'll have two opportunities to hear this mighty beast come to life. On Saturday night at 6pm it will feature as part of our Music from the Silver Screen concert, and on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 two organists will give a recital. If you've never heard the organ at St Joseph's Church in Warrnambool then don't miss this opportunity!
Tickets will be available at the door for both concerts - ticket prices are $25 full, and $20 concession. For the Saturday evening concert, children are 18 are free.
