So, this just hit. Saharan Taureg funk rock (aka Desert Blues) by an awesome Algerian band - Temet.

It had me from track one. World music in a rocking groove. The first tracks on either side - Azzaman (youtube it) and Tamast are clear highlights, but I also really like the very danceable Ehad Wa Dhag and the gentle, loping Tarha Nam. But then I actually love it all.

For those interested in this sort of thing (Dart and Marlin??), I happen to know that there are a couple of copies sitting waiting at Prehistoric Sounds. Pop in and ask Shane Godfrey for a sample listen and see what you think. Better still, just buy a copy, take it home, turn the stereo up to neighbour-distrubing level and then see what you think!
