For generations, Kurnai stories have been shared by Elders.

Now, they bring these stories to life 🧡

It has been immensely special seeing this beautiful and culturally rich series of children books launched by our local Kurnai Elders

Seeing the orders heading out and everyone’s support means the world.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to learn directly from Elders on Country we live on. Please support them if you can and purchase a book or the series. They are truly enjoyable for children and adults alike. Each filled with a different message to reflect upon, storytelling in the truest and most ancient form.

THANK YOU xx🥲

You came. You expressed, you created and you connected.

Sunday was made possible by the tremendous generosity of friends and family. Sharing their time, talents, encouragement and problem solving skills to make the day a success.

The day found meaning through everyone who attended. I truly appreciate your efforts to come and how you engaged with all that was on offer.

I hope everyone left feeling a little lighter, more connected and perhaps even a spark of an idea or motivation to keep creating.

More thankyou’s and photos to share soon…once I’ve caught my breath. But I must ensure a HUGE thank you goes out to our Kurnai Elders, Aunty Cheryl, Aunty Linda, Aunty Kayleen, and Julie, Lisa and Tegan for sharing their culture, knowledge and wisdom with us. Starting the day with such a special welcome and smoking was truly restorative. you’ve been a part of The MAST since the beginning which I’m forever grateful for.

At Open Day, drop into the Podcast room to take part in our voice recording project with Evrim & Benny!

Participants will play with creative prompts to spark stories, and shared moments of imagination which will be captured together in the podcast room. Across the day you’ll have the opportunity to weave together a collaborative playful audio journey.

Great chance to learn a little about voice recording whilst having some fun!

Places are limited so it’s first in best read on open day. Head upstairs and directly opposite you will see the room where Angelika will be set up. Simply write your name into a time slot on the poster.

Today is a day of mourning for First Nations People.

It is not a day to celebrate and the MAST does not do so.

It is a date that each year brings trauma for actions past and for actions present. It also brings out heightened racism.

It is a date that represents the continued impacts of colonisation and highlights how far we still need to come as a Nation.

Our Government can change the date to plenty of others that give opportunity to all celebrate together. Other dates that are still significant to Australia’s settlement history. Dates that still let everyone have a long weekend. It doesn’t have to be such a debate. It is exhausting for First Nation people constantly advocating and carrying the weight.

It’s well overdue to change the date. Let today be a national day of mourning for the impact colonisation has had on First Nations people.

Aboriginal people had publicly announced Jan 26th as a day of mourning before Paul Keating decided to mark it a day of national celebration…Australia Day.

To my local Elders & community, we stand with you always. 🖤💛❤️

For anyone questioning the above I invite you to attend our open day on March 1st and learn directly from the Elders.

With deep regret we advise this Sunday's Open Day can no longer go ahead. Ausnet have announced a power outage for the full day which will impact most of Warragul CBD and surrounds.

Whilst this is essential work it creates a few too many hurdles for the way we planned to run the event.

We will regroup and announce a new date for the Open Day in 2026 👍

We were really looking forward to sharing the day with you and appreciate all of the enthusiasm people have been sharing to attend. We hope you can join us next year instead.
