I won't be at this year but I did put together a full page comic strip about the perils of AI for this year's TALE TOWN. I was asked if I'd be interested in making something about AI in the style of a newspaper comic strip. Well... Newspaper comic strips are to me and the AI thing.. let's just say this year has been difficult and confusing. So thank you so much to and the festival for asking me. I feel honoured and excited for everyone involved.

Our Perth Festival Writers Weekend brochures have arrived! These A6 pamphlets are packed full of all you need to know for the Writers Weekend.

Comics are getting out there! So get in there!

Drumroll, please! 🥁

We're thrilled to unveil our latest collaboration with Perth Comic Arts Festival (PCAF) - presenting the Comic Creator Hot Desk Fellowship!

If you're both writing and illustrating a comic project, this is your chance! The format is flexible as long as it consists of an original narrative told in graphic format with sequential art.

With a dedicated desk at the Centre for Stories, mentorship from PCAF's committee, and a chance to showcase your work at PCAF’s Market Day on July 28, 2024.

But wait, there's more! By July 1, aim to wrap up a substantial portion of your project with the support of PCAF's print design assistance. Get ready to be in the spotlight - we'll feature you on our websites and social media.

And here's the best part - immerse yourself in our community! Attend events, workshops, and network with fellow creators. Plus, a $1500 stipend and a $200 printing allowance.

Applications are open now and will close on Sunday 25 February 2024. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity!
