💚 Shoutout to Team Green 💚

They're back for this year's Voltaren City2Surf , raising vital funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation. With an incredible $16,126 already raised, they're leading the fundraising charge and making a huge impact.

It is an outstanding effort and we're so grateful for their support. Sadly, Team Green knows firsthand why this cause matters so much. Here's their story...
"We are again taking on the City2Surf to raise funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation Beanies for Brain Cancer. As most know, this is a cause that is close to our hearts. Just before Christmas in 2024, our Dad was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma, a highly aggressive grade 4 brain cancer. This road to say the least has been one of the hardest. Dad fought the disease for over 18 months and despite all available treatment options including surgery, radiation, chemo and other supportive medicines. Dad unfortunately lost his battle a few weeks ago in mid July so the City 2 Surf and fundraising we are doing will have extra special significance this year. We are supporting this foundation to try to make a difference for the future, for another family, in the hope that one day there will cure and or better resources to fight this cruel disease."

🖤 Samuel Ian Tink 🖤

It is with great sadness that the Walcha Golden Gate Campdraft and Rodeo Committee acknowledges the passing of our Life Member and Past President, Samuel Ian Tink.

Samuel was a valued and much-loved member of our campdraft and rodeo community and made a significant contribution to our association throughout his years of involvement. As a Past President and Life Member, Samuel played an important role in our association and his dedication, support and commitment to the campdraft and rodeo community will always be remembered.

He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We extend our deepest condolences to Samuel’s family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you all.

Thank you to all those who attended Ross Greens service on Friday.

Ross will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and community. He was honoured by several hundred people in attendance, including numerous of our club members who formed a mounted guard of honour.

Thank you Ross for all that you selflessly gave to our club.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our long-time Life Member, Ross Green.

Ross was a valued and respected member of the Walcha Golden Gate Campdraft & Rodeo community for many years. His dedication, generosity, and countless hours of support have left a lasting impact on our association and the many people who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Ross’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Ross’s funeral will be held on Friday 24th July at 12:00pm at Walcha Showground. We encourage those who knew Ross to attend and celebrate a life so well lived.

💙 On behalf of the Walcha Golden Gate Committee, we are proud to support the Green Family as they once again take on City2Surf to raise funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation – Beanies for Brain Cancer. 💙

This cause is especially close to our hearts, as our long-time committee member and friend, Ross Green, has dedicated countless hours over many years to helping the Walcha Golden Gate Committee grow and succeed. His commitment, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand have made a lasting impact on our committee and our community.
