The Wednesday afternoon Sashiko group will be starting a new project on July 1st. Any newcomers are welcome to come and join in. Jacqui will be teaching 'Simple Sashiko with a Twist'
This is a great opportunity to play with stitch and colour. Choose your own end product - maybe a bag, place mat or table runner.
Think differently about designing simple organic shapes that can be multi-colored or a select colorway that matches your decor.
Weekly sessions on Wednesdays between 1 and 4pm
Cost per session $20

Temari ("hand ball") are traditional Japanese embroidered balls, originating as children's toys from old kimono scraps in the 7th century and evolving into highly detailed, symbolic folk art. They feature complex, hand-stitched geometric patterns over a tightly wrapped core (often holding rice husks) and are gifted to represent friendship, loyalty, and good luck.
Melva will teach two designs of Temari balls - woven over foam balls now-a-days.

'Honey to the Bee' by Sue Daly is a beautiful quilt with honey bee and honey comb blocks. All papers and templates needed are provided in the pattern pack. We have cut fabric rolls in golden yellow suitable for the quilt. 18 fat eighth's (equivalent to 225cm WOF)
