Two years in the making. One afternoon at Victa Cinema. 🎬🎻

Homecoming is a cinematic collaboration between Adelaide-born composer Matt Laing and videographer Denis Smith; a stunning original work built around the iconic Bluff at Encounter Bay, premiering on 7 June at Victa Cinema.

The film pairs breathtaking footage of the Bluff with a live performance of Laing's composition From Home, performed by three of Adelaide's finest string players: Alison Rayner on violin, Justin Julian on viola, and David Moran on cello.

The kind of afternoon that reminds you what it feels like to be genuinely moved by art - right here, on the coast that inspired it.

The ocean on a cinema screen is one thing. The ocean through Tim Bonython's lens is something else entirely. 🌊🎬

On 6 June, Victa Cinema presents a special screening of Big Ocean; a powerful cinematic celebration of the sea, surf culture and the people drawn to its energy and extremes. Renowned surf filmmaker Tim Bonython captures the raw beauty, force and spirituality of the ocean through breathtaking imagery and intimate storytelling.

Part of the Water People exhibition program at Coral Street Art Space, this screening is a natural companion to the works on show - deepening the conversation between art, ocean and the people who can't stay away from it.

Nunga Screen is held annually during Reconciliation Week and is a FREE short film showcase for all ages that shares and celebrates First Nations culture, stories and language through film. Celebrating 15 years of Nunga Screen in 2026.

Screening at Victa Cinemas: Sunday May 31st at 2pm and 7pm as a free community event.

The first 45 minutes of the curated program is suitable for all ages, however the last half is only suitable for children over 15 years.
