All Things Mosaic - Gallery and Studio The Mosaic Gallery is located in Geelong within the bluestone walls of the historic Fyansford Papermill (built 1870) overlooking the Barwon River.

The Gallery houses Mosaic Art in all it's versions. Contemporary, traditional, bespoke and sculptural. Mosaic artists respond to the creative stimulus of producing contemporary art with traditional materials and ancient techniques. They are intrigued by the texture of the materials and the immediacy of the process, the play with colour over a large area and the way in which colour can create movem

ent and dimension to an otherwise flat artwork. Unlike paint artists who mix colours to achieve the desired hue, or unlike ceramic artists who imprint patterns onto wet clay, mosaic artists do not change the aesthetic traits their materials possess.

It's been quite a hectic month and more for me and I'm still under the pump.

I decided to share some of my space at the Papermill. So of course this meant a major clean out. Needless to say I discovered all sorts of special treasures I have been keeping for that ultimate huge mosaic still waiting to be created.

I also attended the MAANZ Symposium in Canberra and had a fantastic time.
While there I became the VIC Rep for MAANZ.
More news, workshops, exhibitions and anything Mosaic related in VIC will be forwarded to maanz members very soon. https://maanz.org/register/

Some of my students and I are preparing for the upcoming mosaic weekend display (26 & 27 Oct) in the beautiful garden area of 'The Heights Homestead' in Newtown, Geelong. This event is open to the public. https://www.nationaltrust.org.au/places/the-heights-heritage-house-and-garden/

Also a new group of lovely ladies have become new students and have definitely been bitten by the mosaic bug :) Glad to welcome you to Mosaic at the Mill.
