This one has been a long time in the making so I was a bit excited to pick it up from the framers on Friday!

A hand-embroidered flower garden that blooms from a layered background of hand-dyed paper, cotton, ribbon, beads and tiny bees. The flowers are stitched using bullion knot embroidery with a combination of new and vintage threads, creating delicate buds full of texture and character.

Professionally framed (a big thank you to Lismore Art & Framing for doing a beautiful job!) in an oak box frame with a deep olive mount, this piece offers a lasting bouquet — flowers that will bloom forever.

Not completely following the kit instructions but I’m happy with the end result 😁 thinking I will keep these for myself - if you can believe it, I actually don’t have any coasters. None, zip, nada!!

What do you do with fabric scraps, sari silk, embroidered tablecloth pieces and the most beautiful ‘jewelled’ bird that was a brooch in a former life, and some sweet flowers that used to be an earring?

Stitch them together using vintage magenta embroidery floss, with the wrapper too sweet to not include and create a unique piece of art 🥰

This would be a beautiful way of giving flowers that last forever!

I’ve been doing a bit more stitching .. this time some new tea towels 🥰 100% linen, freeform hand stitching .. a very organic process!! Sashiko inspired with some embroidery stitches to make doing the washing up prettier!!

What so you do with a lifetime of things? All handmade and some more than 50 years old!! They could live in a drawer or be part of something more. So I’m taking a deep breath as I make a ‘statement’ table runner and 2 small quilts. There are other sentimental things to be added but at the end of the process I’ll have some new heirloom pieces made from old. My girls don’t know it yet but at some stage (and heaven only knows how long it will take me!!) they will be gifted a little bit of the family story in fabric that they can wrap themselves up in ♥️

I tried making mango chutney the other day for the first time in about 20 years and it did not go well 🤦‍♀️ so yesterday I made my favourite pickles from a recipe given to me by a neighbour long ago ♥️They are delicious even though I couldn’t find regular cucumbers and celery seeds are hard to find (fennel seeds are a great substitute!).

Does cooking count as craft? It is creative and it makes me happy so I reckon that’s a yes 🥰

I always seem to over-collect projects that I’m going to work on during that weird week between Christmas and new years when you have no idea what day it is, and you just eat anything labelled leftovers 😁

This is cork fabric .. never used it before but the plan is a bag with some sashiko 🤔 I saw a video on you tube and it can’t be that hard, right?! And now I just want to start instead of doing the jobs I should be doing!! I’m calling it professional development 😁

The humble fan can be a game changer on a hot day .. old fashioned perhaps but they work!! Teamed with a water mist or one of Anne’s fabulous body mists at , you’re onto a winner 🪭🪭🪭

The fans are handpainted by moi and come in a handy ‘envelope’ to keep them neat.
