Over the mountains, through the creek, under the wire and across the bridge. Then keep wading through the mud until you arrive at the crystal clear pool, dive down, deep down and that’s where you’ll find me.

A date, he said.
Mowing his paddock, we did.

He’s always been there, by my side giving honest feedback and constant love and support. He’s a big advocate of me doing what makes me happy and fulfilled. He knows this is where I am meant to be.

Wednesday night he visited me in the studio and said, “paint more like this one. I’ve always loved that one.”
I’ve always loved you Vander

Hands up who remembers when I painted (AND SOLD!) 50 paintings in 50 days 🙌

It was 50 days before my birthday and to commemorate i decided to give myself the ultimate challenge.
Come 7pm each evening, I would post a photo of the artwork and within secs they sold - so much fun!

I hand picked some of my favs from the fifty paintings and made them available as prints

No matter what house I’ve lived in, regardless of the amount of natural light, I’ve always created a space at night that is filled with lamps.
Lamp in the kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedrooms.
When I had three little boys, I found it helped to calm their energy down (a smidge).
Hand painted lamp shades were born when I ran out of surfaces to paint during Covid. They were vaccine to sanity.

99% of the time I’m all peace, love & joy.
There are only two things that will display a fiery character that sits idle in me - upsetting my children or disrupting my home.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those “my boys are perfect “ kinda parents. But if you upset them with unwarranted reason, there’s an inner ember that ignites.
Same goes for my home. I’m super proud and protective of my space and very selective of who I allow through my front door.
Some may say that it’s because I’m a woman/a Cancerian/a goat (Chinese astrology)/an attentive housekeeper. Whatever reason you want to lock in, go for it.
But the intrinsic reason is because this is where I can have my boys live and eat, sleep, play and do life with me. When they’re not here, it’s my sanctuary, my private downtime, my “I get to be me” place.
And that’s what makes it HOME. Simple.

THE MIND. THE HEAD. THE HEART.

‘Declutterring’

Last week I woke, finally knowing what I wanted to call this painting. I went into the studio and wrote it down.
Later that day at work I’m listening to a module where the theme is decluttering and the power in it, of it, whatever you chose for it to be.

Sunday morning I painted with the inspiration of lyrical beauty.
I cooked dinner that night, listening and reminiscing about being pregnant with my first born and giving it my all to .
Years ago my car was stolen and I borrowed a ute and drove my three boys to Binna Burra to camp in the Gold Coast Hinterland for the weekend, with windows rolled down, thanks to

𝘐 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 as I wanted something more vibrant than all white or terracotta pots on my back verandah. I filmed the process in time lapse and posted it.
Then I wanted to experiment with unique shapes so I started hunting for quirky second hand vases and urns. This lead me to realising concrete pots were the easiest canvas for me to work with and I began connections with a fabulous Aussie supplier.
Then you guys got wind of it all and started placing orders.
I realised you saw it as a more affordable way to purchase original and creative products without the cost a large canvas can demand.
Check out the range under 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦 on my site or send through your requests for colour, shape, size. I love me a commission!
