❓️How does a dying 24-year-old capture the absolute joy of a spring morning while the world is at war?🤔
🎼Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps
🪖Composed under the dual shadows of World War I and her own terminal illness🤒, Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps ("Of a 🌱Spring Morning🌞") is a breathtaking triumph of the human spirit👻.
📖Between 1917 and 1918, a terminally ill Lili Boulanger defied her failing health to write D’un matin de printemps. Initially a simple duet, she evolved the piece into a 👏brilliant, ✨️sparkling orchestral work brimming with unshakeable optimism. It would be one of her final gifts💝 to the world, written alongside its sorrowful counterpart, D’un soir triste. Boulanger tragically 🙏passed away just months later, but her radiant masterpiece was immortalised forever when it premiered to public acclaim in 1921.👏👏👏
