We're bringing the whole shebang to you, this September!

2 days of workshops, a Gala concert as well as an informal concert for families on the Sunday afternoon!

Backing live music in our Inner West!

Live music is a huge part of what makes our community so vibrant and we’re backing the venues and artists who make it happen.

The 10,000 Gigs: Victorian Gig Fund is now open, giving eligible live music venues the chance to receive up to $11,000 to stage up to 20 paid gigs featuring Victorian artists.

That means more opportunities for local musicians, more live music for our community, and more support for the venues that bring our music scene to life.

Since the Fund launched in 2024, more than 7,600 gigs by Victorian artists have already been supported.

Applications are open until 2 September 2026, with gigs to take place between December 2026 and June 2027.

Our inaugural NextGEN workshops brought together 68 student musicians from across Gippsland to form a Concert Band, String Orchestra, and the most epic Symphony Orchestra Traralgon has ever heard.

Thanks to funding from Loy Yang B Power Station Community Partnerships and Latrobe City Council Community Grants, and the generous support of Lavalla Catholic College, participants and local music teachers had the opportunity to learn from the exceptional John Quaine (Strings) and Monte Mumford (Band).

✅ Friendships formed
✅ Connections made
✅ Learning to play with other musicians
✅ Playing in a Symphony Orchestra — BIG tick!

A huge thank you to everyone who made this program possible, and to the young musicians who brought so much energy and enthusiasm to the event.

We can’t wait to hear these amazing musicians perform again soon...perhaps an encore performance is in order? 🎻🎺🎼
