Celebrating the first day of spring with this gorgeous lavender-inspired handmade pottery cup. 🌿✨

When I look around, I’m reminded of how much natural beauty surrounds us — the soft colours, delicate flowers, changing light, and little details that so often find their way into my pottery creations.

Nature is my endless source of inspiration, and every piece I make carries a little piece of that inspiration with it. 💜

This piece was made in 1980 by me…and here it is, over 40 years later, still telling its story.

One of the things I love most about pottery is its timelessness. Unlike so many things in our lives, a well-made ceramic piece doesn’t fade away with time. It can be treasured, passed down through generations, and continue to be part of everyday moments.

There’s something beautiful about creating an object that can outlast us—holding memories, meals, flowers, or simply a place on a shelf that brings someone joy.

Pottery reminds us that true craftsmanship never goes out of style.

✨ Handmade then. Handmade now. Timeless always.

✨ Relaxing time in the studio today. I’ve been hand-painting some little cups, starting with carving the lovely floral design into the clay. Once the carving is complete, I carefully paint each piece by hand, bringing the pattern to life.

Then begins the magic of the pottery process — through both firings, watching each cup transform from a simple piece of clay into a unique handmade creation. Every stage takes time, patience, and care, which is what makes each piece so special.

I always love these quiet moments in the studio, where creativity and craftsmanship come together. 🌸☕✨
