CREATIVE OF THE WEEK: Jacklyn Foster Art

Jacklyn Foster is an award winning, intuitive, mixed media abstract artist who creates contemporary, fun and vibrant art.

When studying to become an Occupational Therapist, art couldn't have been any further away from her mind.... little did she know that a few short years later, she would leave that degree and finally make her way back to art. Her childhood dream.

Jacklyn’s work is heavily influenced by the changing seasons in her life, as well as her relationships, people and emotions.

"This journey, started in our dining room back in 2019, then progressed to our only spare room, taking over the space and calling it my own."

"This room is where I would hibernate over almost the entirety of the pandemic, creating and building a business by myself through countless lockdowns. A lot of tears were shed in here, both tears of joy and sadness."

She has worked on large scale art projects including "Me & Uoo Uoo" the Royal Children's Hospital's 150th anniversary, and the RSPCA's 150th anniversary "Wombat in the room".

Jacklyn has gone on to be a mentor and art teacher, helping to guide others towards art with her ‘Creative Canvas’ workshop.

She is also the host of 'The Jacklyn Foster Art Podcast', where she explores the many aspects of life as a creative, the small business owner, but also bringing the banter by chatting with various guests from all walks of life.
