🌳 Spring Creek Valley is officially back to farming zone, announced this morning.

Special announcement at Spring Creek Valley by Minister for Planning Sonya Kilkenny. In attendance with Hutch Hussein and MP Gayle Tierney.

Also in attendance Surf Coast Shire Council, Greater Torquay Alliance, Surf Coast Environment Group, 3228 Residents Organisation.

Thank you to the incredible community, volunteers, organisations and everyone who has constantly protested, advocated, signed petitions, sent letters and fought to save Spring Creek Valley.

This is an incredible achievement today by the Surf Coast community.

Thank you Groove Baby Dance / for recently having me capture your new business venture! What a pleasure!

Annie is an absolute delight to work with from Groove Baby Dance and she has just launched a new business in Torquay.... plus has sold out her first event!

It features dance classes with your baby, toddler or little person. The next venue is at the wonderful iconic TIA Hall in Torquay.

▫️Arts, Community & Protecting the Environment▫️

This is one of my happiest weekends on the Surf Coast ~ The Surf Coast Shire Council Surf Coast Art Matters Arts Trail.

I volunteer at Ashmore Arts amongst a bunch of incredible talented local artists and work with Surf Coast Environment Group to help share awareness of the environment and restoration projects at Spring Creek Valley.

Ashmore Arts is a private property nestled in Spring Creek Valley, with 30 studios and 40 artists who work on site.

They estimate 3000+ people visit Ashmore Arts over the arts trail weekend. 700+ people came to visit our Spring Creek Valley exhibition.

The impressive line-up of studio residents includes well-known Australian artists, geoffreycarran R O W E N A M A R T I N I C H Erin Reinboth | Australian Artist Kate Eliza Takeawei Ceramics and Lighting - Chela Edmunds Natalie Martin | Australian Watercolour Artist Mark Trinham (the famous animal sculptures!) ….Yes, I am totally star-stuck and inspired over the weekend.

This is a wonderful case study of how one person (owner and local legend Stewart), has created an impactful arts community, while restoring the environment on Spring Creek Valley… restoration projects led by OAM award recipient for his environment work, Graeme Stockton, founder of Surf Coast Environment Group

Luckily for the rest of us ~ it now also has a meeting space for hire! The newly built More House Torquay is a multi-purpose room you can book for your own Ashmore Arts experience.

This is a must-visit for next year, pop it in your calendars.
