Quilting has been my passion for a very long time now and it’s hard to imagine a day that I wouldn't sit behind my machine and quilt. I quilt quilts for others and I get the greatest pleasure from planning the quilting to doing the quilting and then to see the quilt come alive when I have finished the quilting!

My other passion besides quilting is my garden. It’s the first day of Spring today and my garden is blooming!! I have many Dutch Iris yet to bloom but they are on the way!!

Day 2 of Free-Motion Quilting in Alstonville was exceptional!

The ladies certainly weren’t giving up! They pushed through, challenged themselves and walked away having learnt so many new skills, hints and tips to take their quilting to the next level.

By the end of the day, everyone was quite exhausted — but what an achievement! It was wonderful to see the progress, determination and creativity from each and every one of you.

Thank you so much, ladies, for your wonderful hospitality, enthusiasm and for making the workshop so enjoyable. It was an absolute pleasure spending the two days with you all!

This weekend I’m in Alstonville, NSW. Today we kicked things off with a Free Motion Quilting Workshop!

I had a mix of complete beginners and some who had free motion quilted before, and it was so lovely watching everyone learn, build confidence and progress throughout the day.

Everyone did so well, and I’m so proud of what we created together!

Now… let’s bring on another day of quilting tomorrow!

This quilt is all hand pieced…..just absolutely gorgeous. The quilting is free motion along with using a circle ruler to create all the curves. It’s just so pretty!!

I quilted this quilt for a friend of mine. It’s bright, happy and fun!!! Pattern is Lamingtons For Tea by Louise Papas. This is all free motion quilted along with using a curve ruler.

Final day! ✨
What an incredible few days it’s been. Watching everyone’s skills and confidence grow from day one to the final project has been so rewarding.

The ladies did an amazing job, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they achieved. By the end, they were definitely exhausted—but so worth it! Thank you all for your enthusiasm, dedication, and the laughs along the way.

Day 3 was all about our Skill Builder Project! ✨

Today the ladies worked on a digitally generated panel, learning how to use rulers alongside free-motion quilting to create beautiful designs. It was another day packed with learning, creativity, and plenty of new skills.

Everyone’s projects are coming together beautifully, and I can’t wait to see the finished results tomorrow!

Day 2 here in Townsville!
Today the ladies learnt the beautiful art of Shadow Trapunto.
It’s a technique that takes plenty of time, patience, and precision—but their hard work certainly paid off.

Just look at these incredible results! I’m so proud of what everyone achieved today.

Day 1 in Townsville was an absolute blast! ✨

The creativity was flowing. Every one of the ladies created something they were proud of. It was another fantastic day of learning, laughs, and quilting together.

Flew into Townsville late this morning for four days of teaching! ✈️🧵

We’re all set up and ready to welcome 15 eager ladies tomorrow morning for Day 1 of machine quilting. I can’t wait to see what everyone creates over the next few days—it’s going to be such a fun week filled with learning and creativity! 💙✨
