Lights, harmony, action!
Gowrie Gals—a beloved local act known for our WWII-inspired three-part harmonies—are on the lookout for a fabulous new singer to join our ranks
This is a permanent position perfect for a confident, experienced performer who loves vintage style, tight harmonies, and bringing music to life on stage
✨ What we’re looking for:
• Strong vocalist with the ability to read music and learn parts independently
• Comfortable singing Alto in an SSA arrangement
• A true performer—able to sing, dance, and move in choreographed numbers
• Willing to fully embrace character and costume
• Available to attend weekly rehearsals in Toowoomba or Gowrie Junction

• Paid performances across the Toowoomba region and beyond
• Be part of a polished, character-driven vocal group with a unique vintage flair

Looking forward to performing aboard the ANZAC troop train on ANZAC day. Tickets are essential!

Don't miss our special ANZAC Day steam trip featuring the very special Gowrie Gals.

Experience the timeless harmonies of the Gowrie Gals, Toowoomba’s own vintage vocal trio inspired by the Andrews Sisters. Known for their tight vocal arrangements and 1940s-style performances, they will bring the spirit of wartime Australia to life with nostalgic melodies and patriotic songs.

Departing at 1pm from the Toowoomba Railway Station, the ANZAC troop train will make it's way through Toowoomba township to DownsSteam's Drayton Station.

Featured on the day:
* Commemorative ANZAC Day atmosphere, reflecting on the sacrifices of our servicemen and women
* Sausage sizzle and refreshments available for purchase at the station
* Platform shop open with souvenirs and light snacks
* Tour of our DownsSteam Museum Precinct, including our ANZAC Carriage

You will return to the Toowoomba Station at approximately 3pm.

Tickets - Adult $50, Child U16 $30, Family $130.

Queensland Transport Museum we'd like to thank you for having us along on Sunday. What a beautiful display of memorabilia! We met some wonderful people who were incredibly knowledgable, made some friends and learned a thing or five about our Aussie history. We look forward to coming back here!
