What was your wake up call and did you listen?

This was me in year 12, which is when my love of design and art began. My 2 favourite subjects were graphics and art, and yet I succumbed to the pressures of this world and got a normal job.

For 12 years I worked as a Nurse/Midwife and it wasn't until I was 32, after a back injury, 2 major back surgeries, and major depression, did I wake up and realise I was living someone else's path. I also had my new baby boy which made me realise I would always want him to follow his loves and passions, and yet I wasn't.

That's when I started on my journey to rediscover design and art again.

14 years later I now run my very own design and art businesses Retrohex Pop'd Art Hub leisaclarkartist

Even though it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through, I'm so grateful to have had that wake up call.
