Screening as part of Sydney Film Festival 2026, Yesterday Island is a darkly funny Australian comedy set on remote King Island, where one man finds himself trapped in a bizarre time loop with only one way out — convincing someone else to take his place.

Reviewer Vincent Brincat compares the film's clever premise to Groundhog Day, while praising its uniquely Australian humour, surprising twists and entertaining performances led by comedian Ivan Aristeguieta.

❤️ Can love really get a second chance?

Now playing in Sydney, Chapter Two by legendary playwright Neil Simon is a warm, witty and deeply human romantic comedy about grief, healing and finding the courage to open your heart again.

Reviewer Vincent Brincat praises the strong performances, sharp dialogue and engaging production by Hunters Hill Theatre, describing it as the kind of show that draws you in completely.

A football final. A crumbling stadium. A tragedy that changed the sport forever.

In Heysel 85, screening as part of Sydney Film Festival 2026, reviewer Dion Gaunt explores a tense drama about the 1985 Heysel Stadium disaster, where real footage and fictionalised behind-the-scenes debate combine to examine blame, responsibility and the human cost of crisis.

What if Jack Johnson's greatest story isn't his music?

In SURFILMUSIC, reviewer Natalie Salvo discovers a different side of the beloved singer-songwriter — surfer, filmmaker, family man, loyal friend and all-round genuinely good human.

Far more than a music documentary, this warm and intimate film explores the friendships, adventures and experiences that shaped one of the world's most recognisable musicians.

The ice may be fake, but the questions are very real.

In Continuity, now playing at New Theatre, Sydney, a film crew attempts to shoot the final scene of a climate-change blockbuster on an artificial Arctic ice shelf built in the New Mexico desert. What unfolds is a witty, clever and surprisingly thought-provoking comedy about ambition, accountability, image and the contradictions of modern life.

Reviewer Adrianna Janice found this sharp 80-minute production both highly entertaining and full of timely questions worth sitting with long after the curtain falls.

What stories would an old piano tell if it could speak?

In The Piano Tuner (part of Sydney Film Festival ), reviewer Juliet Morelli follows Martin, a passionate piano tuner travelling from Tasmania to Darwin, restoring instruments, preserving history, and connecting with the people whose lives have been shaped by music. More than a documentary about pianos, it's a moving reflection on craftsmanship, memory, community, and the quiet beauty of preserving something worth saving.
