When one door closes another one opens. I have entered this artwork into the Banskia Art Prize. If selected, I have to post it to Queensland for judging. Fingers crossed.

OMG. What a fantastic opportunity I have just been given. An opportunity to be mentored by an artist to create a body of work for an exhibition. I’m over the moon. What an honour. Thankyou The Junction Co. for this amazing opportunity 💚💚💚

✨ Congratulations to the RADIUS 8.0 Finalists! ✨

We’re thrilled to announce the 15 artists selected as finalists for RADIUS 8.0!

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted an Expression of Interest. We received an incredible number of applications, making the selection process a very difficult one. We’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to share their work and creative practice with us.

To our 15 finalists, congratulations! 🎉 We’re looking forward to seeing where this opportunity takes your practice and supporting you throughout the RADIUS 8.0 program.

📩 What’s next?
Finalists will receive an email with information about their mentor and the next steps in the program.

If you are a finalist and haven’t received an email, please get in touch with Nicole at [email protected].

💫 Congratulations again to all our finalists, and thank you to everyone who applied!

Delivered in collaboration with Southern Forest Arts, Kimberley Arts Network, Art Gold, RAWA, Town of Port Hedland, Local Buying Foundation and The Cannery Esperance.

The car I painted for the Sh*tbox rally will live to see another rally. It’s been purchased and my artwork will tour the country. If you are the purchaser, please reach out ladies.

A video screen grab of me video bombing the Jury Art Awards presenter. I wander into the background and point to my artwork saying, this one so my mum could see it in the livestream. Someone had to do it 🤷‍♀️😆😆

Jury Art Awards was a fabulous night. Although I didn’t take out prize, I still won because I was one of the 52 finalists chosen and it was the first time I entered.
I am standing with my entry which is called Beauty and the Beast; a painting of the blue asbestos tailings left in Wittenoom gorge.
The portrait artwork is by fellow Tom Price resident Jenna Pickering and won a well deserved award.
And to top off a great night I saw what was almost a staircase moon , we were 4 nights off the actual event because the moon was only three quarters but it was close enough.
And then the moon rose up into the clouds and created a magical halo that doesn’t look as spectacular in the photo as it did in real life.
Now to plan next year’s entries.

New artwork started earlier this week.

This evening I spent an hour being playfully creative while unwinding my neurodivergent brain.
Art really is my saving grace.
These are works in progress and I have a gazillion more ideas to create.
The small squares are 10 x 10cm canvas fridge makes that will make their way to market soon.
Must be time for me to set up an art store to sell. 🧐 hmmm 🤔

Another day in the art studio getting this portrait ready for its last layer in a couple of weeks. Just needs a little more tweaking with highlights and eyelashes and a glaze here or there.
