I really wasn’t going to post about this, and I let it go the first time, but after waking up to it happening again this morning, I feel like I need to say something.

Someone has been creating fake accounts to make very personal and genuinely hurtful comments about me on my business page and messaging me.

Firstly, I want to apologise to any of my customers or followers who happened to see those comments before I was able to remove them. This page has always been somewhere I want people to feel welcome and positive, and I’m sorry that anyone was exposed to that sort of behaviour here.

I know that putting yourself and your business out there publicly means not everyone is going to like you, agree with you or like what you do, and that’s okay. But deliberately creating fake profiles to personally attack someone is something completely different.

I’m a pretty strong person and I usually brush things off, but I’d be lying if I said some of the things written this morning didn’t hurt. They did.

Behind Cowgirl Country is just me. A real person, with feelings who works incredibly hard, loves her little business and tries her best to do good, support other people and contribute to my community wherever I can.

If someone genuinely has an issue with me, I would much rather they come and speak to me directly. Hiding behind fake accounts to try to tear someone down isn’t okay.

I’m not sharing the comments because I don’t want to give them any more attention, and I’m not posting this for sympathy. I just think sometimes we all need a reminder that there is a real person on the other side of a screen and words can hurt.

I’m going to keep doing what I love, keep being me and keep focusing on all the wonderful people who support Cowgirl Country. 🤎

And to those people that do support me, thank you. Your kindness and support mean more than you know. xx
