🪁 What a wonderful Brisbane Kite Festival!

Thank you to everyone who came along, flew a kite, supported the food vendors, visited the community stalls and helped create such a colourful day at Minnippi Parklands

💛A very special thank you to the Rotary Clubs of Brisbane South East and Carindale, Tingalpa Model Aero Club, Remax Morningside Anne Dooley, Cr Lisa Atwood and Brisbane City Council, all our incredible local community groups, stallholders, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes.

This event takes hundreds of volunteer hours to bring to life and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible.

We hope you had a beautiful day with family, friends and neighbours, and we can’t wait to see your photos of the kites in the sky!

🪁 YES, Brisbane Kite Festival is ON!

Today is the day and we are ready for a sky full of colour.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

🪁 Bring your own kite or buy one on the day
🚂 Vuly-sponsored trackless train rides
💧 Water refill stations thanks to Urban Utilities
🪁 Kite sales and help with kite fixes where possible
🎢 Rides and activities for all ages
🍔 Delicious food vendors, sausage sizzle, coffee and drinks
🍦 Ice cream and sweet treats
🎩 Johnny the Jester at 11am and 1pm
🎨 Kids activities and community stalls

What to bring: sunscreen, hat, water bottle and a picnic rug.

Bringing a dog? Please consider their comfort, as the festival will be busy. If you do bring them, please keep them on-leash, bring poo bags and follow Council rules for dogs in parks.

We can’t wait to see Minnippi Parklands filled with colour, families, food, rides, activities, community stalls and kites of all shapes and sizes.

🅿️Where should you park for Brisbane Kite Festival?

Parking will be busy, so please plan ahead.

Parking options may include:

🚗 On-site parking, with a gold coin donation appreciated to support Rotary projects
🚶 Street parking nearby where signed and safe
🌳 Kate Street or Preston Road area, with a walk through Minnippi Parklands
🚲 Container Street area, then walk via the Bulimba Creek bikeway
♿ Reserved disability parking on-site for permit holders
🛑 Stop, drop and go zone at the Festival entrance

Please do not park in signed no-parking areas, across driveways or in businesses that are not part of the parking plan.

There will also be a drop off zone at the entrance to the festival at the end of Stanton Road.

☀️ Getting ready for the Brisbane Kite Festival? Here’s what to bring!

Pack the essentials so you can enjoy the day:

👒Hat
🧴 Sunscreen (there will be some at the info stall)
💧 Water bottle
🧺 Picnic rug or chairs
🪁 Your kite, if you have one (or buy one on the day)
🐾 Poo bags if you are bringing your dog
🍔Appetite to enjoy all the food options

Water refill stations will be available thanks to Urban Utilities and there will be plenty of food and drinks to purchase throughout the day.

If you are bringing a dog, please consider whether they will be comfortable with crowds, noise and lots of families.
