On this wet and wild TBT, I'm throwing way way back to 1981. I left home after finishing Year 12 in 1980 at Timboon, and headed to Melbourne to work at the SEC in Clements House in Flinders Street, Melbourne. A country townie in the big smoke! A fellow worker and great photographer, Mark, took this photo and I must admit it's one of my favourites.

On this gloomy and wet first day of June and Winter, I am warm inside cutting up lots of fabric squares......about 500 of the suckers 😬....for my Stellar Garden quilt that I will be stitching at an upcoming retreat in the Yarra Valley.
The 1st June is also an important date on the Tilda lovers calendar as it marks the official release of the beautiful 'Something Blue' special edition fabric collection. For those early birds who popped in orders last week, they are on their way to you. I have 3 new projects made from the collection......Journal Cover, Table Runner and a Quilt. I still have to write the pattern for the quilt....but that's a tomorrow job.
I will have kits and precuts with me at the Colac Quilters Quilt In this Saturday for those interested. Otherwise check them out on my website 😊.

Another wonderful 'pop up shop day', this time in Myrniong at Chrissie's May gathering. I always love attending and catching up with all of the lovely ladies.
It was also great to chat with Zoe from Bellarine Sewing Centre, who was the other shop in attendance.
The beautiful cross stitch was by Vicki.....absolutely amazing!

Are you wanting to add to your Tilda stash but only want smaller pieces? Do you love EPP, hand piecing, applique or scrap quilts? Well check this out.......
We have just launched our new Tilda Collectors Scrap Club. Each month for 10 months you will receive 15 10.5" x 10.5" squares of different Tilda fabrics. These fabrics will be randomly selected from past and present collections, basics, blenders, chambrays and dots. At the end of the 10 months you will have 150 squares to use as you wish......and I might even throw in an extra square, gift or pattern along the way! The Club commences on the 10th June, and will be posted (or available for in store pick up) monthly.

It's TBT once again.
The countdown is getting serious now with under 4 weeks until Russell and I head away. Apart from spending Christmas in the UAE with family in 2022, our previous holiday was to Morocco in 2019 (also including a UAE stopover with Emma and family). Here I am standing in the edge Sahara Dessert all those years ago.

We are back in the shop today, and while I'm out in the back room cutting the gorgeous new 'Something Blue' fabric into kits and bundles, Russell is busy cutting other fabrics. This pile (plus more 😁) will be going with me on an upcoming retreat in the Yarra Valley. I have a lot of pre retreat cutting work to do so that I can sew sew sew while I'm away. This pile is from various collections by Janet Nesbitt and is destined for my Stellar Garden Quilt.

I spent a couple of hours today putting the shop back together and doing a little stocktake of the kits that I have left after a very busy Saturday at the Geelong Quilt In.
I only have two of my Merry Little Christmas Quilt kits left. Once they are gone that's it....and I don't have any patterns left. They are listed on my website.
