What people think success looks like… and what it actually looks like.

It's easy to compare yourself to someone else's highlight reel.

To think they must know something you don't.

That they were more talented.

More confident.

More prepared.

But the truth is, most of us are figuring it out as we go.

Success rarely happens overnight.

It's built through showing up.

Making mistakes.

Starting over.

Changing your mind.

And continuing, even when nobody's watching.

Behind every big moment are thousands of ordinary ones.

So if you're still figuring things out…

You're probably doing better than you think.

❤️ What's something you wish you understood about success earlier?

Tag someone who might need this reminder.

Still waiting until you feel “ready”?

Most of us are too.

The truth is, there isn’t one right way into the creative industry.

Nobody has it all figured out.

Not when they’re starting out.

Not five years in.

Not even twenty years in.

The people you admire aren’t successful because they had a perfect plan.

They’re successful because they kept making things.

They stayed curious.

They asked questions.

They said yes to opportunities.

And they kept going.

So if you’re feeling lost, behind, or like everyone else has some secret you don’t…

You’re in very good company.

❤️ What advice would you give to someone trying to break into the creative industry?

It was a pleasure to open the workshop doors and share a little glimpse into the weird and wonderful world of giant puppets! 🎭✨

One of the best parts of what we do is showing young people that creative careers come in all shapes and sizes, sometimes in the form of a 10-metre creature.

A huge thank you to Sydney Road Community School and the VME Mentoring Matters program for including us. We hope the students left inspired and with the confidence to chase whatever creative path excites them most.

You never know where curiosity might lead. ❤️

People often ask how something this big is possible.

The truth is, projects like these are rarely about having all the answers from day one.

They’re about collaboration, experimentation and a whole lot of trust in the process.

We’re incredibly proud of the team behind this build and grateful for the opportunity to help bring another world to life for Fish Leong’s 2026 World Tour.

🌊 Part 2 of Tim’s breakdown is here.

And yes… there’s still more to the story.

What if your venue became an experience people couldn’t stop talking about? ✨

For Melbourne, we had the opportunity to help transform 185 Lonsdale Street into a world of fantasy and wonder, creating handcrafted fairy characters designed to bring the space to life and immerse guests in the story.

From sculpting and painting to the final installation, every detail was created to turn a night out into something memorable.

Because the most powerful spaces don’t just look beautiful.

They make people feel something.

If you haven’t experienced the magic yet, we highly recommend stepping inside and seeing it for yourself. 🧚✨

And if you’re looking to transform a retail, hospitality or event space into an unforgettable experience, we’d love to help bring your world to life!

One of the greatest gifts of working in the creative industries is the people you meet along the way.

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with incredible First Nations artists, storytellers, Elders and communities whose generosity, creativity and knowledge have left a lasting impact on us and our work.

We’re deeply grateful to Elizabeth Close and Jack Buckskin for sharing the Kaurna Skink story, to Kambarni, Boox Kid and Cyril Yarran for bringing Yaakan to life, to Noongar artist Noelene Regan and sisters Marie Walley and Dr Millie Penny for helping shape Karlup and the Karaks, and to Samantha Richards for creating beautiful works that celebrate waterways, ancestry and connection to Country.

Every collaboration has been different.

Every project has taught us something.

And every one has reminded us that creativity has the power to bring people together in ways that are meaningful, lasting and deeply human.

Thank you to the artists, Elders and communities who have trusted us over the years.

It has been a privilege to walk alongside you.

🤎

Our First Nations collaborations are available for large-scale community events and festivals.

Nobody teaches you how to get into this industry.

There’s no map. No perfect portfolio. No single path.

Just people saying yes to opportunities, figuring things out as they go, making mistakes, meeting the right people, changing directions, and continuing to create.

Over the years, we’ve learned that most careers aren’t built in straight lines.

They’re built through curiosity.
Through persistence.
Through enthusiasm.
Through saying “why not?” more often.

So we asked our team:

💭 What’s one thing you wish someone had told you when you were starting out?

These are their answers.

And maybe one of them is something you needed to hear today.

👇 What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone trying to break into the creative industry?

Share it below.

Someone out there might be waiting to hear exactly what you have to say.

This is a REAL job!

It’s a question a lot of creative people have heard at some point.

The truth is, over the last decade we’ve been lucky to turn imagination into a career.

From giant puppets and public art installations to touring stadium productions, immersive events, and creatures that somehow end up in front of thousands of people, it’s been a journey full of risks, challenges, late nights, problem-solving, and more learning than we ever expected.

There were plenty of moments where the ideas felt too ambitious, too strange, or too difficult.

But somehow, one project led to another.

And now, 10,000+ of you are following along.

To everyone who has supported us, hired us, collaborated with us, performed with us, attended our events, shared our work, or simply followed our journey over the years, thank you.

We don’t take it for granted.

Here’s to the next giant creature, impossible idea, and chapter of the journey. ⚡

💛 Thank you for being part of it.

For two nights, Curtin University became another world. ⚡✨

Towering creatures. Roaming performances. Lights cutting through the trees. Thousands of people exploring, dancing, laughing, and sharing moments together beneath the glow of Electric Kingdom.

What started years ago as an ambitious idea has continued to evolve with every season, every performance, and every new audience that steps through its gates.

These are the moments we build for.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Creatures on Campus, and to the incredible performers, crew, technicians, creatives, and collaborators who helped bring the kingdom to life.

And a special thank you to for capturing the magic. 🎥⚡

Until next time, Perth. 👀
