Imogen Eve Rowe’s Céleste’s Front Yard (red brick and bougainvillea) captures the quiet complexity of suburban life through observation, memory and place ✨

Part of a larger series exploring 20th century Australian suburbia, the work reflects Rowe’s interest in personal histories, belonging and identity. Through vibrant watercolour and intimate detail, everyday front gardens become spaces layered with culture, activity and lived experience.

Winner of the 24th Dobell Drawing Prize, Rosemary Lee’s 24–1 transforms an everyday urban scene into a layered and highly detailed composition ✨

Drawn to the structures and divisions found within the built environment, Lee combines construction scaffolding and demolition sites into a vibrant work that explores observation, framing and perspective in contemporary drawing practice.

Created using fine pencil work, 24–1 reflects the artist’s interest in the complexity and visual rhythm of everyday life.
