We could tell you what the Tamworth Songwriters Hub is all about, but we reckon the people who were actually in the room said it better.

This is why we do what we do. Thank you to every single person who came along to Hats Off To Country and made the Hub feel like home.

We knew the Songwriting Masterclass with Lyn Bowtell was going to be special, and what a workshop!

Lyn spent Sunday morning sharing her craft, her process, and her insights with a room full of songwriters, and the response blew us away.

One attendee told us it was way better than she ever expected and that her cup was overflowing.

Another said she couldn't wait to come back for the next round.

That's what happens when you put a Golden Guitar winner in a room with people who are serious about their songwriting. Everyone lifts.

Thank you Lyn for giving our songwriters a morning they won't forget anytime soon.

Arts North West Connect keeps growing, and this fortnight we're welcoming Tamworth-born country/rockabilly artist Owen Smith to the directory!

Owen Smith writes and performs original country music, with his single "Upper Class Bogan" charting nationally and a swag of songwriting award finals behind him. He's also the Creative Director of the Tamworth Songwriters Hub and a familiar face on the Tamworth Country Music Festival stage.

Saturday afternoon we opened up the room for small group cowriting sessions and the energy was exactly what we'd hoped for.

Songwriters who had never met before sat down together, shared ideas, and walked out with songs they couldn't have written on their own.

That's the magic of cowriting.

You bring a half-finished idea and someone else hears something in it you didn't even know was there.

The feedback from the room said it all.

People loved the casual, safe space to be creative. They loved meeting other enthusiastic songwriters. And more than one person told us that getting something down on paper in a short timeframe was exactly the push they needed because, as one writer put it, something on paper is better than a forgotten idea.

We couldn't agree more.

One of the questions we get most often is a fair one: if I put on a show with the Hub, how does it actually work?

So here's the breakdown.

We look after the production, the box office and the promotion under the Hub banner, which takes a huge amount of the pressure off.

Your focus stays where it should be, on designing your show, driving your own ticket sales, and delivering something your audience will remember.

If you've outgrown the pop-ups and the street sets, a ticketed show is the natural next step up.

There comes a point where the free gigs have done their job, and it's time to ask a little more of your audience.

It does come with a fair question though, and it's worth answering honestly: why would someone buy a ticket to see you when they could catch you for free down the street?

The very first Sharing Circle at the Tamworth Songwriters Hub and what a way to start the weekend!

Anne Fraser facilitated a beautiful session on Saturday morning where songwriters, poets, and community came together to share their creativity in a space that felt safe, supportive, and genuinely connected.

Some people performed pieces they'd been sitting on for ages. Others came along to observe and soak it up.

This was people sharing from the soul, and it set the tone for the entire weekend.

Thank you Anne for bringing this to life, and to everyone who showed up and gave the circle its heart.
