Let’s talk about downsizing your initial jewellery!
This wonderful client was the perfect example, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show you her downsize for the 3rd lobe, helix and faux rook at the 4week mark! As you can see she’s taken great care of them!
If you’ve been pierced by me, you’ll remember me going on (and on) about how important it is to downsize your initial jewellery once the swelling has settled. This can take place anywhere between 4-8weeks depending on the person and placement.
Leaving your initial jewellery in and/or for too long can contribute to:
• Irritation bumps
• Jewellery getting knocked or caught
• Piercings migrating or becoming angled
• Unnecessary movement and irritation
• A much, much slower healing process
And honestly… it’s also a pretty great excuse for us to hang out again 🤪
Downsizing can only be done when there is enough space on the bar to go shorter. If your skin is touching the front and back of the long bar naturally we will not be able to fit a smaller post without causing other complications.
That being said I’ve had such a huge amount of you returning for your downsizing appointments, and I genuinely appreciate it. Thank you for caring for your piercings/healing journey and my work as much as I do. 🫶🏻
If you’re reading this and haven’t downsized yet, or you’re due for one……this is your reminder!
