The Sports Dome will be closed to casual users this weekend, as we proudly host NEJL Basketball.

🏆 Good luck to all Tamworth Basketball Association teams competing this weekend!

We will reopen to casual users from 9:00am on Monday, 15th June.

“We’re turning on the lights for the community at the Northern Inland Centre of Sporting Athletics track and Velodrome!

During winter, we will be turning on the lights every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm-7:00pm so you can use these facilities for longer in the darker months 🌙

The athletics track is open to passholders only so if you need one, come and see us in the Tamworth Sports Dome.
The Velodrome is open for free public use."

Tamworth Sports Dome – Public Holiday Closure

Please be advised that Tamworth Sports Dome will be closed on Monday, 27 April 2026, due to the ANZAC Day (observed) public holiday.
The venue will reopen as normal on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

The 2026 Academy Games are here!!! 👏

The Academy Games are returning to Tamworth this weekend!

The event will see a few thousand young athletes and coaches from Regional Academies of Sport across NSW travel to Tamworth for a weekend of competition.

To accommodate the event a number of local sporting facilities will be CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC this weekend from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 April.

🚴 Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre and Tamworth Regional Cycling Centre - Velodrome and Criterium Track: Closed Friday 17 (11am - 7pm)

🏀 Tamworth Sports Dome - all indoor and outdoor courts: Closed Friday - Sunday

🏉 No 1. Oval - triathletes will be running around No 1 Oval so access will be limited to this area and the carpark will be closed (Saturday and Sunday)

Saturday’s triathlon is scheduled to start at 9am to avoid impacting the Tamworth Park Run, however there may be short delays for other pedestrians using the Peel River Walk as the triathlon event takes place.

🛑 Road Closures:
Solander Drive (between Gipps Street carpark and Solander Drive/Carter Street carpark) will be closed Saturday and Sunday for the triathlon.

The Riverside Shared Pathway in this section will still be open however there will be a large increase in pedestrian activity as athletes compete.

We thank everyone for their patience during this time. All facilities will resume to regular hours from Monday 20th.
