Still haven't placed your bid? 👀

The 2026 Silent Auction is in full swing at Gallery One, and with 90+ artists and 270+ artworks on show, there's a lot of ground to cover (and a lot of temptation waiting for you).

Painting, ceramics, fibre and textiles, sculpture, jewellery, mixed media, whatever your taste, there's something here that'll have you sneaking back for "just one more look" (we won't tell).

That's the beauty of a silent auction, the bidding stays open the whole time, so there's still every chance to snag that piece you've had your eye on. Just don't leave it too late, because someone else might have their eye on it too.

Bidding closes 1pm, Sunday 12 July, so there's still time to swing by, meet some incredible regional talent (on the walls, if not in person), and maybe walk away with something beautiful.

Over 200 art lovers packed into Gallery One last night for the opening of the 2026 Silent Auction, and what an incredible way to kick things off.

Hester Fraser and Brookie G set the perfect tone for the evening, Dobsons Distillery had everyone sipping on something special with a gin tasting, and Gold Leaf Catering kept the delicious canapés coming (our Friends volunteers worked hard to keep the drinks flowing too — thank you!).

Our very own Friends of TRG secretary Hannah took the mic to MC the evening, welcoming Peter Ross from Tamworth Regional Council to speak and Rachel Wells, speaking on behalf of Kevin Anderson MP, who couldn't be with us but sent his support. Then Friends President Jen Avery took the floor to thank our incredible artists and everyone who came along, before officially declaring the Silent Auction open.

And open it is — bids were already flying by the end of the night! It was wonderful to see so many of our artists there in person too. Art can be such a solitary pursuit, so nights like this are a rare and special chance for our creative community to come together and celebrate each other.

Missed opening night? No problem — the auction runs until 1pm, Sunday 12 July. Drop into Gallery One, soak up the breadth of talent on show, and place your bid.

Thursday is almost here ✨
Opening Night of the 2026 Silent Auction is this Thursday 2 July at 6pm, and we cannot wait to open the doors.

This year's event has grown beyond anything we've seen before, with paper registrations bringing our final artist count to 90+ artists and 270+ artworks filling Gallery One. It's a stunning display of the creative depth in this region.

Come for the art. Stay for the atmosphere. Bid on something that stops you in your tracks.

🎨 Something big is coming to Gallery One.

Every year the Silent Auction takes over the gallery and for ten days, Tamworth falls a little bit in love with art. People come back again and again — checking bids, discovering new favourites, debating whether to go higher. It's electric.

This year we have 80 artists and over 250 works across painting, ceramics, textiles, sculpture, jewellery and more. The calibre just keeps getting better.

Opening night is Thursday 2 July at 6pm. Free entry. All welcome.

If you've never been — this is the year. And if you're already a regular, you know what to do. 😉

🧵 Punch Needle Rug Workshop with Sophie Honess — This Sunday!

A wonderful free workshop is happening this Sunday at Tamworth Regional Gallery, and spaces are still available!

Join local Gomeroi Yinarr fibre artist Sophie Honess — one of three artists featured in the current Exploration of Line exhibition — for a hands-on punch needle rug workshop. Learn the technique to create your own textured, colourful textile artwork while exploring line, colour and form with wool. All materials are provided.
