We offer a unique experience that includes not one but 6 Centurion Tanks, all Ex- Australian Army Tanks that served in Vietnam. There’s also bikes, trikes trucks and many other tanks to see in our indoor museum! Get an up close experience with our 52 tonne Gun Tank affectionately named as "The Bitch" while in service. She has a huge 27 litre petrol V12 motor that creates 650HP and sounds like noth

ing you have ever heard before. We use this beauty to crush cars as well as demonstrate the workings of a Historic Vietnam battle Tank. Your experience includes a tour and a chance to crawl all over this awesome machine as well as many other tanks. Your experience will last around 2 hours with a Tank Ride (approx 20 mins), a guided Gun Tank tour and the opportunity to see a V12 motor up close. We are located at Tamborine , ( not on the mountain!) Queensland this is conveniently located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast approximately 45 -60 minutes from each depending on where you are coming from.

Expressions of interest sought…..
Are you building or currently have a museum that needs a new display?

I’m currently looking for a venue to showcase my entire collection! As it sits there’s about 25 vehicles and always growing!! Some of these are extremely rare and are an instant attraction that will draw crowds!
You would require a large secure indoor area and be located between sunshine coast and the tweed.

Ideally a venue that could host corporate events and displays would be best but I will evaluate anything. We currently have some interest but it’s great to have options.

Well this is it, done and dusted- final ride with mates at Tankride.
Mixed emotions…..anger,disbelief and disappointment to start then thankfulness, appreciation and happiness for what we achieved and experienced. For those that said it wouldn’t work for longer than 2 years we lasted 8 and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger hey. To the neighbour that complained- karma is a bitch!
Today was amazing with a group of Vietnam veterans visiting this morning and humbling me yet again and reminding me of the courageous men who served in these vehicles. I will always honour you through restoration preservation and presence on Anzac days.
Remember we still offer “ tanks to you” and may one day find our perfect location to try again.
But for now I will cherish the memories and celebrate the great times with every visitor when I see you. Tanks for the memories!

Received the kindest gift and card from one of our customers today. I love the positive experience we have given thousands.
With 2 weeks till we close at Tamborine I would like to invite anyone with a picture from Tankride to share it through this post. No one can take away the fun memories we have shared together.

Here’s my thought for today…… As part of Tankride “s council approvals we were required to upgrade the road outside our property at a cost of over $250k. We never had an incident here.
With 3x trucks rolling recently, a fatal crash in the last week, another multiple car crash today it looks like the whole 6 km should have been upgraded by now!!!!!
Why is our road 80 kmh when Beenleigh Beaudesert rd is only 70 kmh?
Locals need to unite to stop the animal and Human death.

On a lighter note our customers will be able to see this thornycroft fire truck at Tankride until we close on December 10th. It’s one of only 33 built and certainly has character😀

The only noise complaints we will get today was from the screams of joy this group of legends produced upon our Sherp vehicle. The Born to fly Ability group visited for the third or fourth time today and gave me more than I gave them( apart from sore ears😂)
These guys have taught me so much and truly appreciate what we do and show it without filters and give warm genuine hugs.
From the bottom of my heart Thankyou all as it’s just what I needed today.

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing Tankride Tamborine”s closure from Saturday 11 th December 2021.
Before I say any more I need to highlight that Tankrides mobile “tanks to you” service continues as normal and that ALL vouchers and bookings will be honoured at a new temporary location. (New location details available by phoning Tim only if you have a booking or voucher beyond December 10 th)

Honesty is the best policy for why so here we go in short…..
A community member complained about our business and obviously couldn’t see the bigger picture of the joy we bring to so many community groups and the public who receive an experience different to every other.
Being a complaint based council Logan city council had to act upon that complaint and while their tourism side loves what we do the land use side has rules and regulations they must uphold.
In short the fees and charges associated with road upgrades and compliance are not conducive to our small business and I would be crazy to progress any further at this location.

At this stage I am only selling one more centurion Gun tank and intend to give all my vehicles a birthday celebrating their restoration and preservation now that the ride use will stop. Ultimately this was always the end goal but when your running a business you never seem to have the time.

Finally Thankyou to my friends/ helpers/ staff who have shared my passion and stuck with me through thick and thin.
Namely Phil, Wayne and Rebekah who have been an amazing team. My family and extended family have always also shared and supported the dream no matter how far fetched it was…Thankyou
The support from the public booking rides, tactical edge hobbies, scout groups, car clubs, corporate groups, international and interstate travellers, autistic groups, church groups, schools, ndis groups, Vietnam veterans, home schoolers and so many more has been overwhelming over the past 8 years and I will thank everyone individually as the opportunity arises.
I look forward to the next chapter in my life and am sure that whichever path we follow it will include military machines and the potential for bigger things, maybe even a new permanent home for Tankride.

Tankride is looking to expand!!
Do you have a location near the Goldcoast or a tourist area that would be suitable for Tankride?? We would love to talk to any businesses or property owners that may be interested in our business at your location. There’s several things to consider to make this viable.
•land size
•proximity to residents ( noise)
•tourism land useage
•area for helicopters to land
•secure storage for equipment or area to build museum.
• interesting site where obstacles for tankrides could be built.

We are just putting it out there to see what options may be possible.
Moving Tankride closer to the highway or other attractions would allow drop in short visits, larger open hours and employment of more staff. We have a proven recipe for success with 8 years of operation and all the equipment to hit the ground running!!

We are searching for someone who enjoys wood turning to complete our Rapier missile replicas on our Rapier tracked missile launcher.
