A little Etsy update! 🐦🐌🛒

You might have noticed my Etsy shop is looking a little bit bare at the moment… but don’t worry, I haven’t disappeared! 😂

I’ve been flat out behind the scenes building up stock for upcoming markets and, dare I say it… CHRISTMAS! 🎄😳

With so much going straight onto the market table, Etsy has been a little neglected lately.

But I know not everyone can make it along to the markets or buy from me directly, so over the next few weeks I’ll be working hard to get LOTS more of my little guys and gals photographed and listed online.

Wagtails, pelicans, lyre-birds, snails and plenty more will gradually be making their way into the shop. 🐦🐌

So if you’re further away, don’t worry — I haven’t forgotten about you! ❤️

Keep an eye on the Etsy shop… the shelves are about to start filling up again!

And with Chrissy sneaking up VERY quickly, now might be a good time to start thinking about a one-of-a-kind little character for someone special. 🎁🎄

Well, that’s another market done and dusted! 🙌🐦🐌

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came out to say hi, stopped for a chat, showed their support, and took one of my little creations home with them. ❤️

It was also great meeting so many new faces — but I think one of my favourite parts was watching all the little kiddies getting right into it, trying to figure out exactly which piece of cutlery made which part of each creature! 😂🥄🍴 There were some very serious little detectives at work!

I learnt HEAPS from this market too.

I know my little guys and gals rock 😎 — now I want the whole stall to match them! I’m already working on the overall look and feel, thinking about how I can make the display more colourful, more interesting and, most importantly, more FUN.

Because I don’t just want you to walk past my stall… I want you to stop, have a laugh, pick things up, have a closer look and enjoy the whole experience.

So… watch this space. 👀

I’ve got a few ideas brewing already, and the next market stall is going to be absolutely STELLAR! 🌟

It’s all starting to come together! 😬🐦🐌

I’ve been doing a bit of a practice run for market day — setting up the table, printing and laminating some new signs, getting the little guys and gals organised and generally creating plenty of chaos along the way. 😂

Well… look who’s getting all fancy for market day! 😂

I’ve been designing, printing and laminating a few new posters for my market table — apparently the birds and snails decided they needed some professional advertising. 🐦🐌🤣

I’m pretty happy with how they’ve turned out, but what do you reckon?

🎄 I KNOW… IT’S NOT EVEN OCTOBER YET! 😂

But judging by what’s been happening in the workshop lately, apparently we’re already stocking up for Chrissy!

Here’s a little look at some of the new guys and gals I’ve just finished — and there are plenty more on the way. 🐦🐌

So if you’re already thinking about Christmas gifts (or you’re one of those annoyingly organised people who has started shopping 😂), now’s a great time to get in touch.

📣 BEAUDESERT, HERE WE COME! 🐦🐌

I’m excited to let you know that Art Metal By Mark will be at the Beaudesert Markets on 3rd October!

I’ve been busy in the workshop getting a whole crew of little guys and gals ready for the day — W***y Wagtails, Pelicans, Lyre-birds, Owls and, of course, a few of my quirky little Snails.

There are plenty of new characters coming along, and I’m looking forward to getting them all out on display!

If you’re around Beaudesert on the 3rd, pop down, have a look at the crew and come say hi. 👋

🐦 FROM FORKS TO W***Y WAGTAIL!

Here’s a little peek behind the scenes at Art Metal By Mark.

It all starts with a handful of old forks and spoons, then comes the cutting, bending, shaping and welding until eventually… a cheeky little W***y Wagtail starts looking back at me!

I love giving old cutlery a completely new life — especially when the end result has this much personality. ♻️🔧🐦

And yes… the video makes it look MUCH quicker than it really is! 😂

What do you reckon — would you have guessed he started life as a pile of cutlery?

These little guys are all packed up in their gift bags and ready for their next adventure! 🐦🦉🐌

They’re heading off to the Boonah Visitor Information Centre, ready to find some new homes.

A big thank you to the wonderful people at Boonah for supporting my work and giving my quirky little cutlery creatures a place to roost. I really appreciate you taking me under your wing… pardon the pun! 😄

Fresh off the bench and rocking a seriously bright lime green, this little W***y Wagtail just needed one last thing before he was ready to face the world… a bit of personality! 😂
