Being a relatively small community, when a large scale musical production is produced, then the whole town becomes involved. Many well known artists and actors have gone on to have successful careers and occasionally come back to perform where they had their first taste of performing. Members are able to watch Films free at the Film Club where movies are chosen from within the club. Movies on the

Mountain is a non-subscription monthly event where the latest movies are screened for a modest entry fee for benefit of the whole community. http://www.tmlt.com.au

On 24 October 2009 the Zamia Theatre re-opened after it had undergone a complete renovation, taking three years to complete, which meant the members of TMLT had to find alternative venues to continue performing (not easy up a mountain!); but the Zamia Theatre had been restored to her former glory with additional amenities back stage for the artistes. This is an on-going process ensuring the Zamia will continue to provide the best possible venue for all forms of entertainment. M FOR MABEL REUNION Theatre members recently marked the fifth year anniversary of M for Mabel. Directed by Lesley Sawyer and Warrick Bailey, with Margy Rose in the title role and written by member Janis Bailey, the group enjoyed seeing the final cut of the ‘backstage’ video showcasing what went on behind the scenes. We held the anniversary event at Roslyn Lodge, as Mabel’s granddaughter Helen Wyatt now lives there - she and her son Peter supported the project so fervently. It was so sad to see images of Pat Fillod, no longer with us, backstage magician of so many talents who is much missed. Enjoy the video - Thor Anderson (also playing film director Charles Chauvel) captures the very essence of what community theatre - indeed all theatre - is about. Coming to the Zamia Theatre Sunday 28th June 2026 at 3:00 pm.

A fabulous double event of film and live music with internationally acclaimed duo Ilse de Ziah and Ian Date.

Begin the evening with the award-winning documentary Living the Tradition, a visually stunning and deeply moving journey into the heart of Irish music and the origins of the hauntingly beautiful Irish Airs. Filmed on location across Ireland, the film follows acclaimed cellist Ilse de Ziah as she uncovers stories, landscapes, traditions and melodies passed through generations.

Rich with breathtaking cinematography, rare musical insight and heartfelt interviews, Living the Tradition invites audiences into the soul of Ireland through its music, people and history.

Then stay for an unforgettable live concert as Ilse de Ziah and Ian Date take the stage in an intimate performance filled with passion, virtuosity and connection. Their mesmerising cello and guitar interplay moves effortlessly through Celtic, Jazz, Classical and World influences, creating music that is atmospheric, cinematic and completely original. From delicate Irish airs to fiery improvisation and rhythm-driven compositions, the duo bring warmth, elegance and extraordinary musicianship to every performance.
Their acclaimed debut album Here & There reflects the spirit of the live show — sophisticated, adventurous and emotionally powerful — with audiences regularly describing the experience as uplifting, transporting and unforgettable.
More than a concert, this is an immersive evening of music, storytelling and cultural exploration that draws audiences into another world.
Film review: “Dynamic, colourful, lush and romantic, the country’s history and politics are never far away in these tunes. Beautifully filmed, the atmospheric and unique scenery of Ireland, coupled with the country’s traditional music, make this a memorable journey.” — City News Canberra
Concert review: “De Ziah and Date had the audience spellbound with their superb musicality and range of repertoire.” — Keith Potger of The Seekers
