The stunning & ever changing beauty of the Aurora Australis ….

I’ve debated for the last week now whether or not I should post these as it felt like everyone had, and why did I need to add to the 10’s of thousands of pictures posted on this event on Jan 20th, 2026 ….

Then it dawned on me that no 2 pictures will ever be a like. 2 people can take photos in the exact same place, at the exact same time, but even if they use the same camera, on the same settings, they would still capture 2 completely different images due to the ever changing dance of the particles thrown at us by the Sun.

They are always so spectacular to behold & they make me feel so completely grateful that I am able to be present in that very moment to witness their majesty.

That being said - here are just a few of the photos I took that night on my iPhone 14 Pro Max!

Calm before the storm at the Mariner’s Cottage, Battery Point, Tasmania, Australia.

Second to being creative, one of my biggest passions in life would have to be history, and more specifically, Tasmanian Colonial history.

Whether it comes from my ancestry or from who I possibly was in a past life, the passion runs deep and can sometimes be consuming of all else.

But I love it. It keeps me connected to where and whom I’ve come from, it keeps me grounded and guides me through my darkest of days.

It also helps others to learn and grow, lighting up their faces when they realise connections to their past, their ancestors they never knew existed and even helps build a connection with business owners to buildings and land they own and in continuing to build upon its story.

History is a great life teacher, without it, we’re doomed to continue repeating ourselves. Though the trick is in not dwelling for too long within it…

Anyone who has ever stayed out to watch the Aurora Australis has been treated to an absolutely incredible, awe inspiring, majestically beautiful show .... We truly live in a beautiful (and all powerful) universe…

Maria Island is just a magical & magnificent place.

I was nerding out pretty hard with so many layers of history and stories all in the one location. While everyone else was busy capturing the views and the wombats, I was busy capturing the colonial human history of the island. ♥️

Cannot wait to come back.

Learning Game Art for the first our game (well second game) - never thought I would struggle so hard with it, but learning slowly and in about the 5th reinvention of what I've been trying to create.

So many tutorials out there, but none really focused on the entire process from beginning to end ... getting there though with the support of as frustrating as it may be at times lol.

Will keep updating as I'm making more progress...
