We asked our musicians what they're most looking forward to in our 2027 program. For Aiko, that's 'Bach's St John Passion', touring nationally in March with the incredible , directed by .aco.

"When I performed this extraordinary work with Richard before, I was deeply moved by the Bach that he brought to life. In his music, there is a depth and soul that words can hardly express."

Happy Birthday to our dear friend, Pekka Kuusisto! 🎈

Our Guest Director has enjoyed a long and beautiful association with the ACO, beginning more than 20 years ago and including his years as Artistic Director of ACO Collective. Today, musicians who once played alongside Pekka as Emerging Artists stand beside him as colleagues - a wonderful reminder of the depth and longevity of his connection with the Orchestra.
And for those who’ve shared the stage with Pekka for decades, his return brings together generations of friendships, collaborations and shared history.

“He’s like family to us all and has been part of the family for a long time... this tour is very special, for us oldies and for the newer members of the Orchestra working with Pekka for the first time. So many circles are coming together and overlapping in this reunion.” - ACO Principal Cello, Timo-Veikko Valve.

We’re honoured to share the stage with him on his birthday today!

Pekka Kuusisto - Musician fiddles during the set change this past weekend for 'Legends & Luminaries' at City Recital Hall, Sydney. We love feeling the joy in the room - thank you to everyone sharing these moments with us!

Shout out to tour manager Jes, making sure every last music stand is perfectly positioned (and so much more).
