Another new year.
It always seems to pass too fast and too slow at the same time. Some moments are loud, others impossibly quiet. I look back and see plans that never happened, and dreams that waited patiently on the side of the road for their turn. Reality and dreams do eventually meet, sometimes in the strangest places. We don’t need to force it. What belongs to us will find its way, if we let it.
So here’s the deal for 2026:
Now is now. Tomorrow will turn into now soon enough. Yesterday has already gone. No day is just something to get through. Every day arrives with the right to matter, even the quiet ones.
Say the things that need to be said, to the people who need to hear them.
Not later. Not somewhere else.
If it matters, it matters now.
And if it doesn’t, just let it go.
Stop trying to arrive before the moment, and stop showing up after it has already passed.
Stop agreeing with people you don’t agree with just to keep the peace. That habit doesn’t get to come with us into the new year.
Look closer. Not from a distance like a spectator, but up close, where life can recognise you back.
Step outside your comfort zone this year.
Not dramatically. Not recklessly. Just a little beyond the safe version of who you’ve always been, even if it’s only by a few centimetres. And don’t shrink yourself to fit into places you don’t belong, as if you were never there.
Be willing to change your mind without apology.
Be happy when happiness arrives, especially with the part of life that already belongs to you. Let life lean on you sometimes. And allow yourself to lean back.
A new year.
May it be kind.
And may we walk into it a little braver, a little softer, and a little more alive. God bless ☝️
