🥁 CAN-DO MUSOS GLOBAL FAMILY SPOTLIGHT: PRATYUSH CHETTY 🇮🇳

Meet Pratyush Chetty (Drum Classes with Pratyush RockariZma), a worship drummer from Jeypore, India, whose love for rhythm started long before he ever imagined himself playing a drum set.

Pratyush says his mother remembers him constantly “hitting on utensils, boxes, tins, cans,” and he believes that through God’s grace, he was an inborn musician. 🎶

As a child, Pratyush spent eight years playing percussion instruments such as bongos and congas. Because of his physical disability, he never dreamed he would one day become a drummer. But life took an amazing turn, and he has now been playing drums for 10 years.

Today, Pratyush is primarily a worship drummer, serving as a church drummer and taking on the responsibility of providing music during worship. His musical influences span contemporary Christian, gospel, worship, rock, and metal.

One of Pratyush's biggest challenges has been access to equipment. He has never owned his own drum set because of financial limitations. Instead, he practices and performs on the drums available at his church — including an old, broken, off-brand kit that has already passed through several owners.

Despite these obstacles, Pratyush continues pushing himself forward. He teaches children, works on strengthening his fingers, hands, wrists, and feet, and continues learning every day. He is especially focused on improving his left-hand and left-foot techniques.

For Pratyush, getting behind the drums is where limitations seem to disappear. ❤️🥁

He says that audiences often don't realize he is physically challenged until after they hear him play. Their reaction and appreciation mean a great deal to him. When he performs, he says he lets his emotions out through the music — and on stage, it never feels like he is physically challenged.

His musical influences are wide-ranging, from Green Day and Lamb of God to legendary drummers such as Tre Cool and Chris Adler, as well as Indian drummers including Darshan Doshi, Ranjit Barot, Gino Banks, Shivamani, and many others.

He has also drawn inspiration from countless worship and gospel artists and drummers, including Hillsong United, Bethel Music, Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin, Don Moen, Simon Kobler, and Duncan Phillips.

But above all, Pratyush's greatest inspiration is his faith. 🙏

He says, “I love to praise & worship through my drumming.”

Pratyush knows there are still goals he wants to achieve. He is working toward becoming faster and stronger, improving his technique, and one day being able to play the complex techniques that currently challenge him.

Most importantly, he refuses to stop learning.

“I've been pushing myself against all odds and trying to accomplish my drumming goals the way I want to play.”

At Can-Do Musos, we're proud to have Pratyush as part of our Global Family. His story reminds us that talent can begin with something as simple as finding rhythm wherever you can — and that determination, passion, faith, and perseverance can keep that rhythm moving forward. 🌎🎶

🥁 Help us celebrate Pratyush and musicians around the world who prove that music has no limits!

🥁 CAN-DO MUSOS GLOBAL FAMILY SPOTLIGHT: ANGELO PENTARIS 🇬🇷

Meet Angelo Pentaris, a talented drummer from Athens, Greece, whose journey with cerebral palsy has become a powerful story of determination, music, and empowerment.

Angelo first connected with the drums during a difficult period when an injury left him in a wheelchair for two years. Unable to do many of the things he had once enjoyed, music became his driving force.

🥁 The drums gave Angelo something to fight for.

They inspired him to overcome the challenges in front of him and become the best version of himself — not only as a drummer, but as a person. Angelo ultimately decided to pursue music professionally, hoping that his own creative voice could empower others as well.

At just 17 years old, Angelo moved to Los Angeles to study music at the Los Angeles College of Music, where he became one of only three students from an original class of 15 to graduate.

Since then, Angelo has performed with bands and collaborated with artists across Greece, Poland, and the United States. He has also toured internationally, combining motivational speaking with live drum performances.

One of his most meaningful projects is “Reflection,” a five-part YouTube series featuring five original songs inspired by different stages of his life. Through the project, Angelo shares not only his music, but the stories and experiences behind it.

In 2022, Angelo took his message to the TEDxAthens stage, where he spoke about turning fear into faith. Later that same event, he performed drums alongside singer Danai Nielsen at the Greek National Opera.

🥁 Angelo has also performed at the Athens Drum Festival and currently hosts his Drum Up The Volume shows at venues throughout Athens.

Today, Angelo is taking his passion even further. He founded Gem Studios, a music studio in Athens designed to provide a space where other musical talents can develop their ideas and bring their artistic visions to life.

💙 Angelo's journey shows what can happen when you refuse to let difficult circumstances decide what your future will look like.

At Can-Do Musos, we're proud to have Angelo as part of our Global Family and to share his story with musicians and music lovers around the world. 🌎🎶

👏 Help us celebrate Angelo Pentaris!

🌍 Can-Do Musos Featured Artist Spotlight: Colombia 🇨🇴

This month, we proudly spotlight Sonora Boteritos from Cali, Colombia — an inspiring ensemble of talented and determined musicians who are proving the power of inclusion through music.

🎶 Sonora Boteritos is made up of musicians with moderate and mild developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and intellectual disabilities.

The group was born in 2007 at the Foundation School of Art Boteritos Workshop in Cali, where director Elena Fernandez began introducing students to musical instruments as a way to explore freedom, spontaneity, and creative expression.

What began as a musical activity quickly became something much more.

The students discovered that making music brought them emotional and spiritual fulfillment. They became happier, more united, and healthier — while developing new ways to overcome the challenges they faced in everyday life.

🎸 In 2009, music graduate Ricardo Giron joined the project, helping expand the musical program by introducing new instruments and establishing regular rehearsals.

Their journey continued to grow:

🎤 2010: Sonora Boteritos participated in the creation of an inclusive choir bringing together children and young people with and without disabilities.

🎼 2011: The BATUTA Foundation invited the group to participate in its programs promoting social inclusion through music and helping participants discover and develop their potential.

🥁 2015: The group added timbales and congas, expanding their musical range and allowing them to explore new rhythms.

🌎 2016: Sonora Boteritos was invited to participate in the 3rd International Forum and Festival, continuing their journey of sharing their music beyond their local community.

Sonora Boteritos demonstrates what can happen when people are given the opportunity, encouragement, and freedom to explore their creativity.

🇨🇴 Their music isn't just about performing — it's about inclusion, connection, confidence, and discovering what is possible.

🥁 CAN-DO MUSOS GLOBAL FAMILY SPOTLIGHT: SIMON HOLOCHER 🇩🇪

Meet Simon Holocher Simon on Drums 96, a talented drummer from Stuttgart, Germany, whose passion for rhythm has been stronger than the challenges presented by cerebral palsy.

Born in December 1996, Simon began taking drum lessons from a local teacher at just 8 years old. Despite living with cerebral palsy, he quickly found his place in the world of music and became involved with his local brass musical society — where he continues to play today.

Simon continued his formal drum lessons until 2015, but his musical education didn't stop there.

In 2016, Simon attended the 5th Creative Drum Camp at Schloss Kapfenburg in Aalen, Germany, where he had the opportunity to learn from and be inspired by some incredible names in percussion, including Claus Hessler, Gabor Dornyei, Pete Lockett, and Anika Nilles.

Since then, Simon has continued attending workshops and master classes with world-renowned drummers, constantly developing his skills and expanding his musical knowledge.

🥁 Simon’s story is a reminder that challenges don't have to define how far your passion can take you.

At Can-Do Musos, we're proud to have musicians like Simon as part of our Global Family — showing the world that disability and musical ambition can absolutely share the same stage. 🌎🎶

🌍 Can-Do Musos Global Family Spotlight: CACTUS 🇫🇷

🎶 Meet Cactus — Paris, France! 🎶

This incredible group brings together talented musicians and artists with disabilities, using music, performance, and creativity to challenge perceptions and celebrate what people can do.

Formed in 2010 through workshops at the Pecq Conservatory, Cactus grew from a meeting of talented musicians with disabilities into a dynamic group that combines rock energy, infectious grooves, humor, and raw emotion.

🥁 Meet some of the Cactus family:

🎵 Paul Serey — Congas & bongos. Paul has Down syndrome and other challenges, but when it comes to rhythm and music, there's absolutely no holding him back!

🎹 Alexandre Ponty — Keyboards. Despite Williams-Beuren syndrome, Alexandre plays and improvises with incredible skill.

🎤 Cecilia Barbosa & Sophie Bergault — Dance & vocals, bringing energy, laughter, and personality to the group.

🎷 Alexandre Vukobrat — Vocals & saxophones.

🥁 Romain Vignaud — Drums… and apparently mayonnaise and French fries too! 😄🇫🇷

🎛️ Lyonel Arnal "Analog-Man" Naya — Sound & production magic.

🎸 Michael "The Boss" Bougon — Bass, songs, guembri, peul flute, saxophone, songwriting, and group leadership.

💿 In January 2016, Cactus released their first full-length album, "Ça Pique", bringing together rock, groove, and emotion in a sound that is uniquely their own.

But Cactus is about more than music. Their performances help raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and change the way society looks at disability — all while delivering a festive and original show.

🌟 Cactus proves that when talent, creativity, and passion come together, the result can be something truly extraordinary.

Let's give a huge Can-Do Musos welcome to Cactus from Paris, France! 🇫🇷🎶🌍

🌍 Can-Do Musos Global Family Spotlight: Rachael Allen 🎶🇬🇧

From Berkshire, England, Rach Allen is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, artist, and author whose creativity has remained a powerful part of her life through every challenge.

Originally from Parkville, Maryland, USA, Rachael began writing poetry and stories at just nine years old. When she received a guitar at 16, she began turning her words into music. Her love of performing continued through high school, where she sang in choir and had opportunities to perform at iconic locations including Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center.

As her health challenges increased, performing publicly became more difficult. Rachael lives with connective tissue disease and dysautonomia, along with other conditions that have made her increasingly housebound. But her creativity never disappeared.

Along the way, she turned her storytelling talents toward writing and published a mystery novel. She has also continued writing songs, playing guitar on her good days, creating artwork, and learning to record music from home.

Rachael's dream is to finally record her original songs in a professional studio. Her journey is a reminder that creativity can continue to grow and evolve, even when life takes unexpected turns.

🎵 Music is more than performance — sometimes, it is the determination to keep creating, one good day at a time.

🌍 Can-Do Musos Global Family Spotlight: Álvaro González (Chile) 🇨🇱🎹

This week we're shining a spotlight on Álvaro González from Santiago, Chile—a keyboardist and composer whose love of electronic music has been part of his life for more than three decades.

Álvaro began playing his first keyboard, a Casio SA-20, around the age of 10. What started with a small keyboard eventually grew into a passion for composing and producing music using digital audio workstations, including FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, and Studio One.

His musical influences span electronic, ambient, cinematic, and progressive music, with artists such as Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Hans Zimmer, Enya, Brian Eno, Yanni, and Kitaro** helping shape his musical world.

Living with mental health challenges, Álvaro continues to create music at his own pace. He describes his playing ability as modest, but his dedication to exploring sound and composition is what truly matters.

He also occasionally performs live at a church restaurant in Santiago, bringing his music from the computer and keyboard into a live setting.

🎶 Álvaro's journey reminds us that music doesn't have to be about perfection. It's about expression, creativity, and finding your own voice.

🌍 Can-Do Musos Global Family Spotlight: Johnnykid Carasso (Canada) 🇨🇦🥁

This week we're shining a spotlight on Johnnykid Carasso from Alliston, Ontario, Canada—a lifelong percussionist and original punk rocker whose love for rhythm continues to drive him forward.

Johnny began playing bongos at 16, eventually becoming a drummer, percussionist, and conga and bongo player. His musical journey was shaped by the raw energy of punk rock, along with the rhythms and sounds of artists such as the S*x Pistols and Bob Marley, as well as dub music.

Johnny describes himself as an original punk rocker from 1977, and that independent spirit continues to be part of who he is as a musician.

More recently, Johnny was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and he has experienced weakness and a loss of grip in his left hand. Rather than stepping away from music, he reached out to the disabled musician community to explore ways to continue playing and adapting to the changes he is experiencing.

His story is a reminder that being a musician isn't simply about how you play—it is about the passion, identity, and determination that keep you connected to music.

🥁 "The beat may change. The passion doesn't have to."

Johnnykid, welcome to the Can-Do Musos Global Family! 🌎❤️

🌍 Can-Do Musos Global Family Spotlight: Robson Galharde (Brazil) 🇧🇷🎶

This week we're shining a spotlight on Robson Galharde from Santo André, Brazil—a talented songwriter, singer, performer, teacher, and preacher who has spent more than 15 years sharing his gifts through music and ministry.

Robson performs Gospel, inspirational, and love songs, bringing a message of hope and encouragement wherever he goes. Over the years, he has performed with numerous bands, preached sermons, taught singing, coordinated community choirs, and even served as a member of the **Tiro de Guerra Santo André Army band**.

Robson also has a passion for education. He has taught English to future missionaries in Brazil, taught singing classes in schools throughout São Paulo, and worked with community choirs.

Living with Bipolar Disorder and Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy**, Robson has faced challenges that have affected his ability to work physically demanding jobs. But rather than allowing those challenges to define his future, he continues to pursue his musical calling and believes in living life to the fullest.

One of Robson's dreams is to record his own album with a record label and establish a band of disabled musicians who can sing, play, and preach in Portuguese and English at churches and venues around the world.

His positive outlook is reflected in one of the Bible verses that inspires him:

💬 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness." — 2 Corinthians 11:30

Robson's story is a reminder that our challenges don't have to silence our gifts. Sometimes, they become part of the message we are meant to share.
