This week we're shining a spotlight on Carlos Guevara from Caracas, Venezuelaโ€”an extraordinary percussionist whose determination and talent have earned him recognition on some of the world's biggest stages.

Living with Arthrogryposis, Carlos began studying music at just 13 years old before joining Venezuela's world-renowned El Sistema youth orchestra program. Through years of dedication, he developed into an accomplished percussionist, performing with prestigious ensembles including the Simรณn Bolรญvar Youth Symphony Orchestra**, Simรณn Bolรญvar Jazz Big Band, Symphonic Rock Orchestra Simรณn Bolรญvar, and numerous rock and metal bands.

Carlos has toured internationally throughout Asia, North America, and South America, performing in countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Colombia, Ecuador, and the United States. Along the way, he has shared the stage with internationally respected musicians, studied with world-class drummers, and appeared at major jazz and percussion festivals.

In addition to his performing career, Carlos is a passionate educator and motivational speaker. Through his "Challenges Behind the Drums" drum clinics, he encourages aspiring musicians to overcome obstacles and pursue their dreams with determination. Now based in **Medellรญn, Colombia**, he continues inspiring the next generation as a drum instructor while performing with multiple musical projects.

Carlos is also an endorsed artist for Vic Firth Drumsticks, Aquarian Drumheads, Cympad, and Custom Cymbal Nuts**, reflecting the respect he has earned within the international drumming community.

His journey is a powerful reminder that passion, perseverance, and hard work can open doors around the world.

This week we're shining a spotlight on 4 Wheel City from New York, USAโ€”an inspiring hip-hop duo proving that disability is never the end of a dream.

After life-changing spinal cord injuries caused by gun violence, Namel "Tapwaterz" Norris and Ricardo "Rickfire" Velasquez** refused to let tragedy define them. Instead, they turned their passion for music into a movement.

Together, they founded 4 Wheel City, using hip-hop, motivational speaking, and advocacy to inspire people with disabilities and educate communities about resilience, inclusion, and opportunity. Their performances have reached hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers, and events across the United States, sharing a powerful message that every person deserves the chance to pursue their dreams.

Beyond creating original music, the duo mentors newly injured individuals, speaks to young people about the consequences of violence, and advocates for greater accessibility and equality. Their work has earned recognition from major media outlets, including CNN and ABC World News, while touching countless lives through their message of hope.

Their story reminds us that even after life's greatest challenges, purpose can be rediscoveredโ€”and sometimes become even greater than before.

Today we're proud to introduce Kigambo Araali Moses, a talented musician from Fort Portal, Uganda, whose music celebrates culture, resilience, and the power of community.

Living with a Spinal Cord Injury, Kigambo has built an inspiring career as a folk, pop, and fusion artist, proving that determination and passion can overcome life's challenges. Alongside his work as a performer, he serves as the Talent Development Director of Engabu za Tooro (Tooro Youth Platform for Action), a cultural organization dedicated to preserving heritage and empowering young people through the arts.

Throughout his career, Kigambo has been instrumental in promoting Ugandan culture both at home and internationally. As a performer and cultural leader, he helped his troupe achieve national recognition, pioneer community theatre in Western Uganda, and participate in international cultural exchange programs.

His own music has also earned widespread acclaim. Kigambo has released five music albums and received numerous prestigious awards, including:

๐ŸŒ **Global Family Spotlight: Olle Frodin ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿฅ**

Today we're shining a spotlight on Olle Frodin, an inspiring drummer from Sala, Sweden, whose determination proves that passion can overcome even life's greatest challenges.

Olle fell in love with drumming at the age of 10 after discovering the music of Deep Purple and Uriah Heep. What started with a single snare drum quickly became a lifelong passion, leading him to perform in rock and hard rock bands throughout Sweden.

In 2002, everything changed when Olle developed a severe flesh-eating bacterial infection that nearly took his life. To save him, doctors had to amputate his right arm.

Rather than giving up on music, Olle accepted the challenge of learning to play all over again.

Through years of determination, creativity, and experimentation, he developed a unique drum setup that combines acoustic and electronic elements, allowing him to continue performing with incredible skill and energy. Every adjustment to his kit reflects his refusal to let disability define what he can achieve.

Olle's message is one that resonates with musicians everywhere:

"If you really WANT to do it, you CAN do it!! Never give up the things you love!"

His story is a powerful reminder that while our journey may change unexpectedly, our passion and determination can always lead us forward.

Today we're shining a spotlight on **Michael Byeong-Wook Woo, a talented guitarist from Seoul, South Korea, whose passion, perseverance, and positivity continue to inspire everyone around him.

Born completely blind due to congenital retinal optic nerve abnormalities, Michael has never allowed his disability to define what he could achieve. After graduating from the Seoul National School for the Blind** and studying Social Welfare at Daegu University, he pursued his lifelong love of music.

Inspired by the legendary **Eric Clapton**, Michael picked up the guitar and committed himself to mastering the instrument. He says:

"I started learning guitar later than other musicians, so I have to practice much more. I always work hard, and everything will be great!"

Michael's dedication has led him to become a valued member of the pop band **Grand Grand**, where he has performed in dozens of concerts across South Korea. As the band's oldest member, he is known not only for his musicianship but also for encouraging and supporting his fellow bandmates at every rehearsal.

His story is a wonderful reminder that determination, hard work, and a positive outlook can open doors to incredible opportunities.

Today we're proud to introduce Belinda Metlitzky Silbert, an extraordinary soprano from Cape Town, South Africa**, whose journey is one of resilience, passion, and unwavering dedication to music.

Living with Epilepsy and Asthma, Belinda has refused to let life's challenges silence her voice. From studying piano at just five years old to training with renowned vocal coaches across South Africa, Israel, and Europe, she has built an inspiring career as an operatic soprano, performer, teacher, and advocate for the Bel Canto singing tradition.

Belinda's musical journey has taken her to international competitions in Italy and Luxembourg, prestigious performances across South Africa, Israel, and Europe, and collaborations with respected composers, including premiering Professor Peter Klatzow's *Lamento Vocalise*, a work written especially for her.

Despite illness interrupting her career, Belinda never stopped believing in her dream.

This month, we proudly spotlight two inspiring members of our Global Family from Scotland โ€” **Samantha E (Edinburgh)** and **Clare Johnston (Edinburgh)**.

๐ŸŽค Samantha E โ€” Edinburgh
Music has always been Samantha E's voice. Living with **Autism and a Pervasive Communication Disorder**, Samantha learned to sing before she could speak and says that music has always been her way of expressing how she feels to the world.

Remaining true to herself, Samantha records her music without using Auto-Tune or vocal correction software, embracing authenticity in every performance. Her dedication has earned her numerous honors, including the Young Scotland's Got Talent Certificate of Excellence, the International Naturally Autistic People Awards for Performing Arts, and appointments as an INAPA Ambassador for Scotland and the UK. She was also recognized by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh for her work promoting autism acceptance.

๐ŸŽผ Clare Johnston โ€” Edinburgh
Clare Johnston is a disabled-identifying composer, performer, and music technologist who has transformed barriers into opportunities for innovation. Living with challenges affecting **stamina, mobility, and hearing**, Clare found new creative possibilities through music technology after returning to music education in 2009.

Working with Drake Music Scotland, Clare developed a passion for digital instruments, composing original works for iPads, MIDI instruments, digital harps, and other assistive technologies. She is also a pioneer in **Eye Gaze-controlled music, using her own lived experience to explore new ways of creating and performing music. Clare's work demonstrates how technology can expand artistic expression and make music more accessible to everyone.

๐Ÿ’™ In Loving Memory of Mugambi Paul Dsm (Mpofu) ๐Ÿ’™

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our Can-Do Musos family member, Paul Mugambi (Mpofu) of Garissa, Kenya.

Paul was a talented blind rapper whose music carried a powerful message of hope, determination, and inclusion. He began recording music to prove that disability should never stop anyone from pursuing their dreams, and throughout his career he inspired countless people with his unwavering belief that ability is far greater than disability.

One of Paul's most memorable messages was:
"I want someone to look at me and say, 'Because of you, I didn't give up.'"

Those words perfectly captured the impact he had on so many lives. Through his music, Paul championed equal opportunities for people with disabilities and reminded the world that everyone deserves the chance to succeed.

Paul's voice, passion, and courage will continue to inspire musicians and dreamers around the world. His legacy lives on in every person he encouraged to keep moving forward despite life's challenges.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul's family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched. He will forever remain a valued member of the Can-Do Musos Global Family.

Today, we celebrate resilience, passion, and a lifelong love of music through Filip Don Filipo / Jagodic from Laลกko, Slovenia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐ŸŽน

Filip is a talented keyboard player, synthesizer enthusiast, and composer whose story is one of determination and an extraordinary connection to music.

Born on November 22, 1997, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Filip weighed just **600 grams (1.3 pounds)** at birth. As a result of his premature birth, he lives with cerebral palsy, blindness, and is highly functional autistic.

From the very beginning, however, it was clear that music would become an important part of his life.

๐ŸŽน Before he was even one year old, Filip was already playing simple melodies on a keyboard.

As he grew up, Filip attended the Institute for Blind and Visually Impaired Youth in Ljubljana, making the daily journey there for ten years.

His family never stopped searching for opportunities to improve his quality of life. He received treatment for cerebral palsy in Zagreb and even underwent surgery in Belgium in hopes of restoring some of his vision.

Although the operation was unsuccessful, it never diminished his passion for music.

Today, Filip is an accomplished keyboard and synthesizer player with a fascination for sounds, electronic instruments, and recording devices. His love of music extends beyond performanceโ€”he is an avid collector of keyboards, synthesizers, sound modules, and dictaphones, always exploring new sounds and musical possibilities.

Filip describes himself as:

๐ŸŽต "A ballad person."

His musical inspirations span generations, from the early 1900s through the late 1980s, with a special admiration for legendary artists including:

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Elvis Presley
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Roy Orbison
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Patti Page

Among them all, Elvis Presley remains his greatest musical hero.

Filip's story reminds us that music isn't limited by sight, mobility, or circumstance.

His journey continues to inspire others to embrace their talents and follow the music in their hearts.

Today, we celebrate creativity, self-expression, and the power of finding your voice through Samantha E from Edinburgh, Scotland ๐Ÿด๐ŸŽค

Samantha is a talented singer and autism advocate who has used music as her primary way of connecting with the world since she was very young.

Living with Autism and a Pervasive Communication Disorder, Samantha discovered something remarkable about herself:

๐ŸŽต She learned to sing before she could talk.

Music became more than a hobbyโ€”it became a language.

Samantha explains:

๐ŸŽค "Music has always been a way for me to communicate how I feel to the world."

That connection to music has remained at the heart of everything she does.

Known for her honesty and authenticity as an artist, Samantha records her music without relying on auto-tune or vocal correction software. She prefers to share her natural voice and genuine expression with listeners.
