Dear AFTT Community,
AFTT has a proud legacy of training actors, film makers and stage managers dating back to the early 1990’s. Our community have made outstanding contributions to their industry and enjoyed successes in all areas of the performing arts. Graduates have worked in all major Australian theatre companies, on fringe and independent productions, and on local and international television and films. They have been AACTA and Logie Award recipients and many more receiving theatre and festival award wins and nominations. In every way, the work created over the last 30 years has made an indelible mark on our industry. Now it’s time for AFTT to take the next step in providing the highest quality of training to Australia’s future creative leaders.
We are excited to announce that the Academy of Film, Theatre and Television is officially merging with our sister college, JMC Academy.
Already existing under the broader umbrella of JMC Academy since 2013, AFTT has enjoyed a strong history of working alongside JMC and together, have been able to provide a comprehensive scope of both Vocational and Higher Education programs for our students.
In 2013 we imagined new collaborations as we became sister school to JMC Academy
In 2016 our acting school (ACTT) and a sister film school (IFSS) became AFTT
In 2020 We launched our first Acting degree alongside JMC
In 2022 we delivered that degree across JMC’s campuses in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney
In 2023 it’s time for us to embrace the enormous opportunity of giving every student access to state of the art facilities and more opportunities than ever to collaborate with JMC students from music, animation, games, audio, entertainment management, design and on more real world projects.
The entire AFTT team are looking forward to continuing to provide world class training and student support with our incredible staff and lecturers. Thank you to the entire AFTT community for helping to foster a brilliant institution, the foundations of which will forever be woven into the fabric and legacy of JMC.
