BARBRA • Introducing the Barbra Craft Series, a special collaboration, handcrafted in small editions by the Mount Hagen Collective in Papua New Guinea.

Each design is unique, created in limited numbers by a group of 10 weavers, led by Barbra Pegasa, an Among Equals cultural advisor.

The weavings in this series were made during a recent dry spell in Papua New Guinea. As the heat intensified and water became scarce, the women would sit together and weave, sharing stories to pass the time. In the afternoons, they would walk through the bushland with containers, searching for water to bring home to their families. The straight lines woven into these designs are a symbol of that experience – every piece reflects the strength, creativity and connection of the women who wove it. Online now

SPRING CRAFT • A new season brings fresh inspiration – the weavers have been updating traditional patterns with exciting palettes and we love the results.

This Two Needle design handwoven by Deli symbolises a traditional PNG story of two orphaned siblings - the brother asks his sister to secretly watch the village women as they weave, the young girl then teaches herself the craft of Bilum-making.
