Among Equals A not-for-profit merging art and fashion with the ancient practice of Bilum weaving.

Among Equals was established in 2014 as a not for profit enterprise, raising awareness of cultural traditions that are being forgotten.

CELEBRATE • International Women’s Day, this coming Sunday, marks the power of independent women — and this year’s theme, Give To Gain, is particularly relevant.

We are fortunate to work with communities of women united in their strength, innovation and determination – the artisans of Papua New Guinea are the heart and soul of our social enterprise.

Together, we are committed to creating a sustainable industry for future generations, a brand built around sharing knowledge, mentoring, training and storytelling on a global stage. Tradition meets modernity, fashion meets mindfulness, craft meets opportunity and independence

LIMITED-EDITION CRAFT SERIES • Colour! Art! Community! Our new collection brings together the weavers’ most loved patterns and palettes, thoughtfully handcrafted in small editions.

* Each design is a unique work, which takes around four weeks to hand-weave.

* Created in a limited series of 10 pieces by a collective of 15 weavers, this collaboration has helped us connect to an additional 100 women living near to Goroka in Papua New Guinea.

* Working in this way provides meaningful and sustainable income to support the women and their communities.

INTRODUCING • Our Limited-Edition Craft Series brings together the weavers’ most loved patterns and palettes, thoughtfully handcrafted in small editions.

Each design is a unique work of art, created in a limited series of 10 pieces by a collective of 15 weavers – this collaboration has helped us connect to an additional 100 women living near to Goroka in Papua New Guinea.
