Sounds of Prayer for 3.11 from Sydney to Japan 🙏

It marks the day of the Great East Japan Earthquake, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake that struck northeastern Japan, triggering a massive tsunami and leading to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.

This gathering is not a memorial service in the traditional sense. Rather, it is a time to carry our thoughts on the energy created by music and send those resonances toward Japan.

While we will cherish moments of quiet (including a time for silent prayer), at the same time, it will be an energetic gathering that allows us to truly feel “being alive in the present moment.”

Ikebana internatil sydney is planning to hold the “Ikebana International Sydney Chapter 65th Anniversary Commemorative Event” at North Cammeray on Saturday, March 14.

To mark this milestone 65th anniversary, this will be a special day, as they will be welcoming the Head Master and Deputy Head Master of the Koryu school from Tokyo specifically for this occasion. demonstration.

The Auburn Cherry Blossom Festival commenced on August 16th. The first performance on the Sakura stage featured tea ceremony. IKCS members, attired in spring kimono style, as guests. The event is scheduled till the next weekend starting at 9:15am.

We were proud to support the Japan Club of Sydney's 'Pass the Baton' event by handling crowd management, facilitating origami with Midori Furze and providing reception support. As part of the 80-year commemoration of the end of WWII, Keiko Ogura, a Hiroshima atomic bomb survivor, joined us in Sydney to share her experiences.
